We had the good fortune of connecting with Alyssa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alyssa, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting Cookie Corner Creations came from a mix of passion, creativity, and a desire for independence, I’ve always loved baking, especially cookies. It started as a hobby, where I would just bake for friends and family. For a while, I was and still am baking for U.S. troops who are deployed. Then finally turned into something more as friends and family began asking for custom orders. I realized there was something special about seeing people light up over a handmade treat. That joy, combined with a dream of doing something on my own terms, (and a little push from a good friend haha), pushed me to turn my passion into a small business.
I wanted to create a brand that felt personal and warm, where every cookie tells a story or brings a smile. Custom cookies made with care and creativity are few and far between these days. Starting Cookie Corner Creations was my way of bringing that back, blending creativity with entrepreneurship and doing something I truly love.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m most proud that I didn’t give up. Starting Cookie Corner Creations wasn’t always easy, but every challenge taught me something valuable and made the journey even more meaningful. There were moments of doubt, exhaustion, and uncertainty, but I pushed through because I believed in what I was creating. What kept me going was the support of my family and friends. They’ve been my foundation cheering me on, lending a hand, and reminding me that I was capable even when I didn’t feel it.
I’m also incredibly excited to see where this journey takes me. Baking is just one part of who I am, I’m also a photographer, and I love bringing a creative eye to both sides of my business. From capturing the perfect shot of a cookie to styling my own brand visuals, it’s been empowering to build something that reflects my passions.
I’ve learned that nothing worth having ever comes easy, cliche I know haha, but it’s true. And that’s exactly what makes trying so worth it. Every small win, every happy customer, every lesson learned along the way has brought me to where I am today. I want the world to know that Cookie Corner Creations is more than just cookies it’s a story of persistence, creativity, and heart. And I’m just getting started.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting South Florida, I’d plan a week filled with fun, food, nature, and memorable experiences that really show off the heart of the area. No drinking necessary to have a great time! We’d definitely start with some beach time, because nothing says South Florida like catching the sunrise over the ocean or relaxing with our feet in the sand. Hollywood Beach would be a top pick laid-back with a great boardwalk for walking or renting bikes, plus lots of little spots to grab a snack or people-watch.
For food, I’d have to take them to Rocko’s Pizza on the beach, or Pizza Salad Pointe, or Davie’s Best Pizza Bar (if you can’t tell, I’m a pizza lover haha) they’re my favorite places for delicious, fresh-made pizza in a super casual, friendly setting. We’d also visit local gems like The Taco Spot, and Hollywood Brewing Co. on the beach for delicious food with a great view.
For exploring, I’d mix a little history and a lot of natural beauty. Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is a must, it’s like stepping into a fairytale with its beautiful architecture, gardens, and waterfront views. We’d also visit Flamingo Gardens to see wildlife up close, including their famous flamingos, and maybe enjoy a peaceful walk at Secret Woods Nature Center or have some fun kayaking on Whiskey Creek. To shake things up, I’d plan an Everglades airboat ride, it’s exciting, a little wild, and gives a whole new appreciation for Florida’s unique wildlife.
Throughout the week, we’d explore spots like Fort Lauderdale’s art district for art and inspiration, maybe check out a local market and just enjoy good food, good company, and the natural beauty all around. South Florida has so much more than nightlife, it’s full of hidden gems, vibrant communities, and places that feed both your spirit and your creativity.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Without a doubt, I want to dedicate my shoutout to my family and close friends. They’ve been my biggest supporters from day one—cheering me on, taste-testing every new cookie flavor, and reminding me of my potential whenever I doubted myself. Whether it was helping with picking up ingredients, ship orders, or simply offering encouraging words, they’ve shown up for me in every way possible.
Cookie Corner Creations wouldn’t be what it is without their love, belief, and constant encouragement, and I’m endlessly grateful to have such an amazing circle behind me every step of the way.
