Meet Amir | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amir and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amir, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
One of my favorite quotes comes from my godfather. Anytime I tell him about a project I’m starting or some new ideas I have for my photography, he always tells me the same thing: Make it happen. It might seem like a simple phrase to some people, but to me, it’s a powerful motivator. Those words constantly replay in my head whenever I catch myself slacking, start to feel unmotivated, or when overthinking clouds my mind.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a photographer and the creative mind behind FlicksbyAmir, my art is a reflection of both my journey and my versatility. I specialize in capturing everything from portraiture and fashion to events, street photography, and creative storytelling—always aiming to bring emotion, authenticity, and depth to every shot. What sets me apart is my ability to adapt to different styles and visions while still maintaining my unique perspective. Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy; I started with limited resources, often borrowing equipment and learning through trial and error. But I stayed committed, leaned on my mentors, and kept pushing through every challenge. Through it all, I’ve learned that consistency, patience, and belief in your own growth are everything. What I want the world to know about FlicksbyAmir is that this isn’t just photography—it’s purpose-driven storytelling behind the lens of someone who lives and breathes the art.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Living Miami there’s a lot of spots to hangout but personal my place of choice has always been Aventura Mall. Growing up with my cousin we all would just pile in his car and go to Aventura Mall do catch movies, walk around, and honestly just get out of the house into a new place. If its a week long trip I will definitely say Orlando, growing up me and my family always took yearly trips to Orland to just spend time with each other, its sooo much nostalgia in the 3 hours car rides thats something I will never forget.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
When it comes to the important people in my life, I don’t even know where to start. For starters, let me start by thanking the Lord, because without Him, none of this would be possible. One of my favorite Bible verses of all time comes from 2 Corinthians. It reads: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” This verse resonates with me deeply. Following His word and becoming a firm believer has truly changed my life for the better, and I can’t wait to see where He leads me next.
There are a few special people I want to thank as well: My grandma, My godfather, and My mom. Without these three, I would not be the person I am today. Each of them deserves their own personal speech for the support they’ve given me.
Starting with my grandma—she’s the person I turn to most when I’m feeling down or stressed. She always keeps me emotionally grounded, and for that, I’ll be forever grateful.
Next is my mom. She is the definition of “one call away.” Whether it’s a last-minute booking I need to get to or a late-night ride home, she’s always there for me. I appreciate that so much, and I love her with all my heart.
Then there’s my godfather. He has truly stepped into the father role in my life. He’s always honest with me and gives me genuine life advice that helps me grow into the man I want to become. My love for him runs deep, and I’m forever thankful for everything he’s done.
Another person I want to thank is Herbert Jean—aka Mr. Jean. He’s the one who really introduced me to photography. I met him during my sophomore year in his first-period class at Miami Norland. I ended up joining his photography club, and ever since then, he’s believed in me. He even let me borrow his equipment back in my early days, and he continues to give me advice—not just on cameras, but on life. I can confidently say that Mr. Jean is another father figure in my life. I wouldn’t be the photographer or the person I am today without him.
Some more people i would like to thank is my friends, Most of them i met because of photography and others i met along the way. I thank them for their constant support of my work and how much they motivate me to keep working.
