Meet Laelanie Larach | Abstract and Contemporary Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Laelanie Larach and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Laelanie, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Art has always been part of me, and I knew it at a young age, when I began painting
with oils and charcoal my surreal landscapes with imaginary trees and waterfalls falling
from a blue sky. My first paintings had a traditional art style with mountains, trees,
planets, ocean waves and all of them were related to our natural surroundings that
inspired me to continue painting and pursue my dream inside the artistic industry.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I was born in Honduras a beautiful country located in Central America that gave me a lot
of inspiration during my artistic career. I began painting at a young age with oils and my
first painting was a mystique surreal landscape that is titled “Bosque Misterioso” a
special oil painting that I created at a young age and it has beautiful mountains,
waterfalls, red macaws and blue waterfalls! As the years passed my art style changed
to a brighter color palette with bright bold colors that includes blue, orange, red,
turquoise, pink and many more colors that reflects my Hispanic heritage and love for the
ocean that has always been part of my inspiration. Most of my abstract and
contemporary paintings have a coastal design that includes long palm trees around blue
ocean waves moving around a water sphere that stands in the middle of the landscape,

that makes them different from other artists across the world. They are bright tropical
original oil paintings with drastic color combinations that I love using while I’m painting a
colorful abstract painting, I just love using bright colors because they make me feel alive
and therefore all my paintings are colorful. Other paintings are loaded with blue, a more
calming color that I like to use in my coastal artwork.
One of my recent achievements this year is that I was selected by Life Time Miami
Marathon to design the ribbon medal for this year! I decided to create a unique original
coastal painting with abstract palm trees and colorful ocean waves that capture the
energy of Miami along with the effort of the runners during the Miami Marathon. The
paintings that I created for the ribbon medal are available at my website, and they are
stunning original oil paintings with bright bold colors that fit inside a modern home
interior that loves having tropical paintings with bright summer colors.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For the best time ever, it will be a relaxing day at the beach, perhaps at South Beach! It
is a dazzling place with art deco architecture, coolest nightlife and inspiring ocean
views. I love quiet and calming places and therefore I pick a quiet time by the sea, it is
inspiring, and it helps you transform your imagination when you are a creative person.
And a cool place to eat will be “Area 31” the food is amazing, along with the music is
also fantastic, is one of my top places with a stunning view.
