We had the good fortune of connecting with Maggie Alvarez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maggie, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The biggest reason behind my success? My kids.

They’re the reason I show up every day with drive and purpose. I’m constantly inspired to keep pushing forward so I can give them the best life possible. One filled with opportunity, stability, and everything they deserve.

Every decision I make, every late night working, it’s all with them in mind. They’re my why, and they’re the reason I keep reaching for more.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart as a photographer is my personality and my attention to detail. I connect deeply with my clients, and I care just as much about their experience as I do about the final images. I want people to feel comfortable, seen, and celebrated in front of my lens. That connection, paired with the little details I never overlook, is what truly brings my work to life.

Getting to where I am today hasn’t been easy. One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced was when my daughter was diagnosed with cancer. I had to put everything on hold to be fully present for her and I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat. But rebuilding and rebranding my business after stepping away was tough. It’s been a slow, intentional climb back, and I’ve learned that success isn’t always fast. It’s about showing up, even when things feel heavy.

What I want people to know is this: I’m back. I’m more focused, more driven, and more passionate than ever. My story has shaped me, and now I’m ready to grow something even bigger than before.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is a tough one because I’m definitely more of a homebody, but if my best friend came to visit, I’d want them to experience some of the natural beauty and local gems that make Palm Beach County so special.

We’d definitely spend time in my favorite town, Jupiter, FL. I’d plan a day around the clear blue incoming tide. Perfect for paddle boarding and snorkeling. It’s one of those hidden treasures that makes you feel like you’re on vacation without ever leaving home.

After a beach day, we’d grab some burgers at a casual spot near the water. Somewhere laid back with salty air and good vibes. And for a fun night out? I’d take them to Boone’s in Loxahatchee for some line dancing or karaoke. It’s the kind of place where you don’t have to take yourself too seriously, and it always guarantees a good time.

Honestly, it wouldn’t be about packing in tons of tourist spots. It would be about soaking up the laid-back Florida lifestyle, enjoying the water, and making simple memories in beautiful places.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to my husband.

He’s been my biggest supporter from day one, always encouraging me to keep growing, chasing my goals, and pushing myself even when things feel overwhelming. Whether it’s taking care of things at home so I can focus on work, hyping me up before a big wedding day, or reminding me of how far I’ve come, he’s constantly in my corner.

Having someone who genuinely believes in you makes all the difference and I’m beyond grateful for him.
