Meet Gio Negron | Music Producer & Audio Engineer at Audio Vision Studios

We had the good fortune of connecting with Gio Negron and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gio, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business felt like the next step because most Audio Engineers in Miami studios are already 1099s, so it just made sense for me to go all in. My company, Jump Music Productions, is the main hub for music creation. From writing and recording to mixing and mastering, I do it all so clients get the full package when they work with me. I love being hands-on and making sure every step is just right to create hit records.
I also run a side project focused on music education. It’s this podcast and live seminar called Mixdown where I bring together industry vets and up-and-coming talent. We share stories, do live demos, and talk all about the craft of mixing, sound design, and the behind-the-scenes work that goes into making music sound great. It’s about sharing knowledge and inspiring other creators to level up.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My passion for music ignited when I first started playing guitar and singing at the age of 15. I’ve always been a writer—crafting poetry and fantasy stories—but everything changed when I combined my writing with music. That moment marked the beginning of my love affair with songwriting and creating something entirely original. I founded an Alternative Rock band called Banana Chant, which allowed me to perform all over South Florida and hone my craft.
During this time, I immersed myself in music production, working with Logic Pro and Pro Tools while recording and producing for other artists. After graduating high school, I was accepted into Florida International University’s School of Music, where I majored in Music, specializing in Music Business. I graduated in 2020, then took a year off to focus on my band’s album and further develop my skills in music production, exploring different genres and refining my craft.
In 2021, I committed fully to audio engineering, starting with an internship at Audio Vision Studios. From there, I gained invaluable experience in both the business and technical sides of music, working my way up to become the Lead Engineer in 2023. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of recording and mixing for renowned artists such as Jason Derulo, Lil Pump, Smoke Purpp, Ludmilla, Tory Lanez, Layla Banks, Beam, Peso Pluma, and many more.
My journey has been driven by relentless hard work and late nights—nothing came by luck. I firmly believe that success is earned through dedication and passion. Today, I’m focusing on production, collaborating with emerging artists, and submitting music to industry leaders. My creative philosophy revolves around breaking boundaries—crossing genres and pioneering new sounds. I believe in creating music that’s not just within existing genres, but that pushes the envelope and leaves a legacy of originality.
If there’s one thing I want the world to know before my time is up, it’s this: I’ve never aspired to be normal. I want my music and my life to be as vibrant and textured as I am—coloring outside the lines and leaving a lasting impression. After all, life is too short for everything to be grey. I aim to bring color, flavor, and authenticity to every note I create.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I’m not locked up in the studio all week, anywhere that’s playing live music. A good spot would be Wynwood and a couple of places up in Fort Lauderdale. There are a couple of joints there with great live music attractions. It might sound basic, but I love the beach in the early afternoons. Perferably North beach and Hollywood beach. Less craziness around those areas. I’ve never been a club guy; however, I do love a good whiskey and cigar bar. Española Cigar Bar would be one of my choices.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This shoutout goes to my second family at Audio Vision Studios. The owners, Fentz, Sean, and Johnny Mars, who have helped me carve my way through the industry. And of course my main family that includes my parents, brother, sister in law, and my beautiful girlfriend who’s my number one supporter in all of this.
