Meet Erika Collins | multipreneur specializing in real estate, executive security, and business development.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Erika Collins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erika, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve been an entrepreneur since I was probably 12 years old. I was the neighborhood babysitter and lawnmower, and then years later had a full childcare business. During that time I decided I wanted to go to college for business and earned my bachelors in international real estate. I had learned about human traffiking and wanted to be a part of the solution. Helping with business creation and rehabiliation in empoverished areas is the goal I am working towards. During my bachelors studies, I was given an assignment to learn about real estate developing as a means of enhancing local economies as well. Since I was little, my dad was a property manager and I always enjoyed the process of real estate management and construction, so when I stumbled upon a masters degree for international real estate, I knew it was the next step. My ultimate big dream goal is to create a rescue and rehabilitation organization for victims that expands the globe. While others may find their fulfillment in rescuing, I want to provide safe shelter for the process of reintegrating back into society and helping people become whole once again.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Woven throughout my entire life has been my enjoyment of art. I truly believe that practicing art without judgement allows for breakthroughs in both your personal and professional life. During Covid I worked on writing my very first self help book called Rise Up Level Up. It’s a book I started before the rollercoaster of Covid changed the trajectory of my ideal career path, and is written to help people understand the importance of wholeness as a businessperson. I would say that art, journaling and meditation have helped me advance tremendously. I process through painting on a canvas and allow the divine flow to come through my hands into my art. Meditation has allowed me to dig into those deep recesses and release hidden hangups that I wasn’t aware of that held me back. It’s amazing in life the dysfunction we can have from our life experiences. Tapping into those dysfunctions for me and finding healing is truly the biggest advantage to my success. Where your mind goes, your money follows. I understand that the business world is catching up to the idea of wholistic leadership, and I am happy to think that I’m a bit of a pioneer in that aspect for the business arenas that I’m in. It makes me a much better leader, and in exchange a much better trainer to the people around me. I know that my style might not be for everyone and that’s ok. One thing I feel secure about is that the ability to bring my whole self to the table when dealing with clients is non negotiable for me. I will give an incredible work ethic and a whole lot of heart with it – otherwise why am I doing what I do?

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is an easy one because I live in the most beautiful city on the planet. I moved to Miami in 2019 and have never looked back. Each time we have guests here we love to take them to the numerous amazing restaraunts, beaches, museums, zoo. We’re not big on the party scene but love sophisticated socialization at cigar lounges and wine bars. Of course who doesn’t want to enjoy a boat trip when they come to Miami – so that’s always on the agenda as well.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A big shoutout to my husband of 10 years, Jason – who is always my biggest cheerleader. Of course to my late father who truly shaped me into the human being that I have become, and to my three daughters.
I would also thank the professors at Oral Roberts University for giving me such a great foundation for what I have been able to accomplish so far in business, and ongoing love to my fellow Professors and Panthers at Florida International University.
