Meet Kitty Lundan | TV Host, Executive Producer, Music Artist, and Author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kitty Lundan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kitty, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success has been my mindset, specifically, the ability never to give up and the commitment never to stop learning.

I didn’t reach where I am by sheer chance or taking shortcuts; instead, my success results from curiosity, hunger, and resilience. Over the years, I’ve worn many hats–TV host, executive producer, music artist, author, entrepreneur–each role requiring me to develop myself constantly; learning new skills even when no one was looking was essential to my success, and dealing with setbacks when things didn’t go according to plan was part of that evolution process.

There were times I could have given up, when doors closed or people didn’t believe in my vision, but I persevered because I believed in myself, my stories, and the impact they could make.

What sets me apart is my ability to forge my own path. As an award-winning TV host, executive producer, music artist, author, and public speaker who created her own lane in media, I never waited for opportunities to present themselves; instead, I made them myself! From What’s Poppin’ PBC? to People of Power and Taste The Palm Beaches – my production and hosting content that celebrates culture while elevating community voices has inspired others to show up boldly as themselves!

Let me be clear: Making history is never simple.

I’m proud of being the first African-American woman in Palm Beach County to host and produce a television show. Yet, that moment was met with many obstacles and closed doors before finally receiving approval for my show. To get there, I had to fight hard to be heard, seen, and taken seriously in rooms where I sometimes felt uncomfortable; constantly proving I wasn’t just creative but an effective leader and visionary who knew how to build brands that resonated with audiences.

I made it here with hard work, grace, and growth. Every challenge forced me to level up, yet I refused to give up and stop learning. With my background in journalism, mass communications, organizational management, and NYU’s certificate in Business of Entertainment, I have the tools needed to balance storytelling, strategy, and execution seamlessly. From local celebrities to grassroots leaders, I’ve conducted over 400 interviews where one thing became evident: people want to feel seen, valued, and understood.

As a music artist, I channeled pain into purpose with Now I Can’t Breathe, a song that attained international recognition after George Floyd died. And as an author, I dedicated my heart and mind to writing Real Estate of Love: A Dating Guide, using real estate metaphors as the focal point. Whatever platform I touch – stage, screen, or social media my aim is always to spark thought, shift perspectives, and empower individuals to find and claim their voices.

Undoubtedly, it hasn’t been easy, but I wouldn’t change anything. Rejection can often be seen as redirection. Being the “first” shouldn’t mean being the “last.” And remembering to always be myself without apology or compromise is key.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother deserves all of the credit and recognition for my journey. She has always been my biggest cheerleader. She encouraged me to dream big, believe in myself, and never let anyone else define who or what I could become.

Growing up, she instilled confidence and reminded me that I could accomplish great things. Even as she battles dementia, there are still moments where she looks at me and says something like she’s proud – these words mean more now than ever!

Her unfaltering faith in me despite her own challenges remains the source of my purpose, and all that I do is a testament to her strength and love.
