Hi Mariela, how do you define success?
I define success on three levels:
1. Impact: Knowing that my brand, Piel de Oro, has helped thousands of people feel better about themselves and has created opportunities for other entrepreneurs.
2. Systems and Freedom: Having built a business that operates with solid processes, allowing me to own my time and be truly present for my daughter.
3. Constant Evolution: The ability to keep learning, growing as an individual, and facing new challenges with peace of mind. True success is looking back and seeing that you’ve transformed a personal passion into a legacy that transcends.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I identify as a Creative Professional because I believe that building a brand is an art form driven by strategy. With a formal background in Marketing, I don’t just see numbers or trends; I see an opportunity to tell a story.
Every day, I apply my expertise to my business by crafting dedicated, high-value content specifically designed for my potential clients. My creative process involves deeply understanding their needs and emotions so I can communicate with them in a way that feels personal and authentic. For me, being ‘creative’ means using digital marketing to bridge the gap between a service and a real human connection.

What sets me apart is my ability to blend Marketing strategy with the sensitivity of wellness. My ‘art’ is the process of transforming a beauty service into a profound emotional experience for my clients.
The journey hasn’t been easy. Building an international franchise from the ground up required immense resilience and the ability to learn from constant challenges. However, I am incredibly proud of turning a simple vision into a solid brand that now connects with thousands of people globally.
I want the world to know that Piel de Oro is more than just aesthetics; it is a reflection of discipline, passion, and purpose. Through strategic and dedicated content, my goal is not just to build a business, but to inspire others to understand their own stories and shine with their own light.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If a best friend were visiting for a week, my mission would be to show them the perfect balance between city energy and coastal serenity. We would start with a stroll through the Design District, not just for the shopping, but for the inspiring architecture and public art.
For dining, I would definitely take them to Doggis. As a proud Venezuelan, I love sharing the flavors of my home country, and their arepas and pepitos are the perfect representation of our culture and seasoning. A visit to Key Biscayne is also a must, specifically Bill Baggs State Park, to watch the sunset by the lighthouse—it’s one of the most peaceful spots in the area. Miami has a unique magic that shines even brighter when mixed with our Latin heritage!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I love this question because no one gets to where they are alone. First and foremost, I have to dedicate this shoutout to my mother and my sister. Their unconditional support has been there from day one until this very moment—without them, none of this would be possible.
I also want to recognize my father and his wife, Laura, for their constant backing. And, of course, my daughter, who is my true engine and the reason I push forward every single day. Finally, a huge thank you to every single person who believed in me and my vision back when it didn’t even seem possible. This success belongs to all of them, too.
