Meet Alexis Resnick Ph.D. | Licensed Psychologist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Resnick Ph.D. and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexis, what principle do you value most?
A couple of core values that matter to me most are: trust, honesty, kindness, genuineness, and respect. These values are important in my personal and professional life. Personally, these core values have helped shape me and have helped me create meaningful connections. Professionally, these qualities are essential to the therapeutic relationship and can ultimately help with patient engagement in the therapeutic process and attainment of therapeutic goals.
What should our readers know about your business?
As a licensed psychologist, I provide therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. My extensive training and high quality of care sets me apart from others. I am most proud of helping people and making a difference. A great deal of school, training, hard work, dedication, persistence, and mentorship helped me get to where I am today. When building a practice, you learn what works best and make changes along the way (e.g., the schedule that works best, marketing/networking methods, how to provide the highest quality of care while also making time for self-care, etc.). Luckily, as a psychologist, I am well-equipped with effective tools to face any challenges and work through them. I am so grateful that I get to do what I love every day and make a positive impact on people’s lives. Everyone has mental health, and I enjoy being an advocate and provider of mental health services.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As a psychologist, I know that everyone is different and has their own preferences. I would take into account what my friend typically likes to do and his/her food preferences, and then I would create an itinerary around that information.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to the following individuals: my family and friends, my AP psychology teacher in high school, my mentors in college and graduate school, my supervisors on my internship and postdoctoral fellowship, and my colleagues in the field. Additionally, as a psychologist, I discuss the importance of self-compassion and giving oneself credit; so, I would also like to recognize myself for my hard work and dedication to the field throughout my journey.
