We had the good fortune of connecting with Niki from By Niki Photography Team and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Niki, how do you think about risk?
Without taking risks I would not be where I am today especially when it comes to creating By Niki Photography Team. I hired all Photographers through the internet, we did not have a chance to meet in person, in both towns Houston and in Miami. Life has taught me many challenges, and building my Team from a scratch was definitely one of those. You know, as they say, no risk no fun!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I call myself a lucky girl, who had an idea and made it happen. No one said it was going to be easy. I faced a big challenge to create By Niki Photography Team. Back in 2016, I did not know my idea would be even possible. I had a few Weddings booked back in the USA while I found myself overseas. No matter what, I did not want to disappoint my Clients. Long story short I hired Photographers who are shooting under my vision, while I create a Scenario for a photo shoot day, work on editing, deliver to our Clients, etc. And each time when I am personally in Miami or Houston, I take this great privilege and stand behind the camera by myself. I am excited about every single photo session that is happening under my brand name. In those moments I honestly feel like Christmas came early. I am proud of what I created, I can be in another part of the World while a photo session is happening covered By Niki Photography Team. There is no better feeling! I would not change anything about this process. Now I have some interesting stories to be told. I learned that trust must be earned, not only in business relations.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My Must-Have Places worth visit, Wynwood Walls, Ocean Drive by night and enormous margaritas, the beach in Miami Beach, shopping on Lincoln Road but also Key West by car, and a weekend getaway to the Bahamas on a cruise ship. For lunch I recommend steak or burgers in the Faena Hotel Miami Beach at Los Fuegos, also while there make sure to check the 25-karat gold mammoth skeleton sculpture encased in hurricane-proof glass and signature candy cane-striped umbrellas.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Huge Shoutout goes to one and only my Photography Guru, Mr. Edward R. Lilley, and his book ‘The Business of Studio Photography: How to Start and Run a Successful Photography Studio’. Thanks to given all marketing strategies I learned how to start up my photography career. The outcome was way beyond my expectations. To the point where I could not handle so many phone calls and emails within the first week so I was forced to create a system for that. Also Shoutout to all Photographers working in By Niki Photography Team. Thanks to them impossible became possible!
