We had the good fortune of connecting with Lexi Layne and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lexi, how do you think about risk?
I believe life is all about taking risks. If you never take them how will you ever know what you are truly capable of? I definitely find myself being a massive risk taker, being a new alternative female artist in the music scene “risks” have become my best friend. I am always the one who pushes myself over the line and outside the box to see what I can achieve. It isn’t always easy it’s almost like you’re playing with fire, but if you never play how will you ever know.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve always been in love with singing. I started performing in musical theatre when I was six and slowly transitioned into a singer/songwriter at age 15. I found my “home” in the rock/metal genre, that is where I am fully able to express myself. Life is never easy especially following your dreams. The struggles make the ride that much more interesting though I always say. I am grateful to have found an amazing team to work with who truly understands my art. I just released a new single called “Sinner and Saint” that is now available on all musical platforms! We are still working on the EP but that will drop 2021 and I am so excited for everyone to jump on this musical journey with me.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have two people I want to shout out, first my best friend/makeup artist Nikki Carmela. She is truly the fire underneath my wings. We have been on this path of sisterhood for 19 years now and she has never let me down. Not only is she an insanely talented makeup artist but she is dedicated and loyal to her craft and those she loves. My second shoutout would be to my musical partner, Clint Fowler. Wow has it been a journey with him. I always say Clint is my musical soulmate and without him I wouldn’t be where I am today in my career. He is multi talented, patient, focused, and is always down for whatever I throw his way. I am forever grateful for all that he has done for me and this musical project.
