We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Chimere Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany Chimere, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
One of the most difficult decisions I’ve made was walking away from my career of 14 years and starting my own business.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career started in 2004 with a background in Television in Film. I’ve always wanted to work in the entertainment industry, preferably behind the scenes. After graduating college I moved to LA for a little bit, where I worked on shows like America Idol, So you think you can dance, I worked for networks like BET, MTV, Sony and VH1. I was sure this was what I loved and wanted to do. When a tragic event changed my life in 2006, I had to make some changes and started to work for corporate America. I started as a temp for this small and upcoming business, where I learned the in’s and outs of how to run a business. I learned everything I needed to know about business without a degree. My final title was VP of Operations and the end of that career came due to Covid. While I was very comfortable in my 14 year career, I knew it was time to go and explore something new. With my background in sourcing, accounting, human resources, marketing and running a successfully multi million dollar company, I knew I have all the skills I need to start my own…thanks covid. It was a difficult decision, but I must say it’s been the best decision I made so far. I left my corporate career in in May of 2020 and I immediately started my own business and launched the The Pink Sugar Box July 1, 2020. I’ve always been great working under some kind of pressure, so the 2 months I had to get this business up and running were a breeze…therapeutic actually. I didn’t realize that industry I was embarking in was seeing an increase in revenue due to covid. I was and still am extremely excited about launching my first subscription box. The first month of launching we had over 120 subscribers. I really learned that if you leverage your network you can really grow and this is what I did. We are growing every month and I haven’t been more happier to provide women with a reason to smile each month. Our boxes are $15 a month and filled with 5 amazing lifestyle, footwear, fashion accessories and beauty products. This business has come so easy to me, because of my past experience and my own personal desire to enjoy what I do.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My friends know I’m more of laid back chill kind of person. Here is what our itinerary would look like: Monday: Jet Skiing and lunch on the beach Tuesday: Let’s check out the homes in Miami, theirs some beautiful places to see Wednesday: Breakfast and renting a sling shot to ride up the coast Thursday: A relaxing day at the beach and lunch on the board walk Friday: A trip to Wynwood to see the sites and have lunch Saturday: Brunch and 4 Hour boat ride Sunday: Church and dinner at Fingerlickin’

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank my husband for supporting me through this endeavor. He’s truly been the reason why I can do what I do.
