We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Nunez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I always knew I wanted to be a chef, but the moment I knew it was time to start my own business was just the simple fact of being my own boss. The most stressful thing about it was the decision of leaving my stable job not knowing what lies ahead, deep down in my gut I already knew it was going to be successful. The most important part of wanting to start your own business is just to start!!! Everything will come into place but putting yourself out there with confidence is key.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When it comes to creativity it’s the same as painters, sculptors, writers and all those artists out there that think outside the box. I feel like learning something every day is important it opens up your mind to thinking about things differently and openly and gives you a chance to grow!

At first when starting it was smooth sailing but once I started growing 2 months in, I had rearranged my thinking into me not just being a chef but a business owner. There are so many aspects to owning a business that it gets a little overwhelming sometimes but once you organize yourself and do your research which is key it blossoms so effortlessly. I am so thankful to the people along my journey that has made is so easy for me to flourish.

What I’m MOST proud of is how everyday my craft gets better and better compared to when I started in 2019 boy has my style of plating, flavors, the way I do things, my process has changed. At first my style I would say was fine dining but now I feel like I am super versatile that I don’t put myself in one category I pride myself in knowing a little about everything and wanted to perfect my craft in the things I have learned throughout my years in being a chef

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I mean south Florida has such a plethora of food, dining and activities that I mean there is so much you can choose from. I will say that living here for most of my life I still haven’t even hit a notch into all the places I have saved in my Tik Tok account Haha! Almost every part of Florida has its own downtown and each one is totally different with the same concept a good time and amazing food. Nothing will top going to Miami! whether its midtown, south beach, north Miami but nothing will top Wynwood for me. The people the atmosphere the color the culture it’s like none other there are so many events and food spots you will be overwhelmed! if you ever have the time make sure to stop by 1-800 Lucky’s if you’re a fan of Asian fusion this is the place to be!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My story I feel it’s been in chapters leading up to this moment with many more moments to come. I would have never gone into this profession if it wasn’t for my mother, she inspired me to experiment with food. I loved the way she cooked, I loved the way she put so much love into food the aroma that filled the air that you can tell she poured herself into it, she paved the way for my love of food. The person who taught me about flavor was my Peruvian grandmother, Peruvian food is already a mix of vast amounts of culture and a long history at that so when teaching me about the cuisine I learned how to experiment with different flavors, spices and to think outside the box.
