We had the good fortune of connecting with Olga Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Olga, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Freedom. Freedom to be free, to choose, to decide and to express myself. I figured, we, humans, tend to attach to and seek for things and conditions that provide security, comfort, quality. But when you look at it closely, that often leads to being dependent on a number of things and other people’s opinions, decisions, choices. I have spent a lot of years working in world’s largest and less big regional corporations, thinking I was happy because I had a stable, high and solid income, great benefits, and lots of other things that let me travel the world, live an amazing comfortable life and provide the same comfortable living to my family, until one day when I realized that none of that was giving me the most important thing – freedom. In fact, I was a victim of all those great benefits, great work conditions and salary… I didn’t belong to myself; I couldn’t often say what I really felt or thought; I had to accept someone else’s point of view because it was the “right thing to do” in my position, in my job. And that made me extremely unhappy inside, when I was on my own at home, as well as when I was with my family and close people. I realized I couldn’t breathe freely and as widely as I wanted to. And so I decided to go independent and start doing MY own thing – something I really truly loved and always did just wasn’t allowing myself to do because I was too scared, too concerned, too “comfortable” with where I was. Now, I’m free.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My passion to create, and I love to call myself a Creator. It actually is my personality archetype, whose m
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Let me imagine that it’s one of my good friends, Maria, and she’s visiting me. I’d take her on a road trip to Naples and we’d stay in one of those small boutique hotels right by the water. We’d drink wine, eat seafood and talk, talk, talk. I’d definitely take her to our acting studio ‘The Actory” to watch one of the classes, and meet my fellow actor friends there. I love The Actory – we’re a community of great people! My favorite restaurants in Miami are quite diverse – I’m a real foodie:) In before-the-pandemic times you’d catch me at: Broken Shaker, Zuma, Lung Yai Thai Tapas, Kyu, Meraki, Joe’s Take Away, Sugar, Watr at 1 Rooftop, just to name a few.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
David Matos. He’s my best friend, my business partner and just my soul partner, too. He’s the most entrepreneurial person I know personally. Great is not enough for him! He always strives for fewer but bigger and better, and he loves freedom just as much as I do.
