Meet Jenny Perez: Artist & yoga instructor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenny Perez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenny, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Authenticity is the 1st contributing factor . After that, I believe my success is relative to my state of mind . When I am happy with the work I do, when I am excited and continuing to share that excitement, the world responds positively .

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My work is my purest form of expression. It’s unfiltered and by experiencing it I feel people will truly see me . I am quite obsessed with what I do and I’m happy about that .

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a big fan of starting my day at a coffee shop and a yoga practice – I think it sets a nice tone for the day . So for starters , Panther Coffee or Vice City Bean it is, followed by a yoga class at my home studio , Wynwood Yoga. All the magic of this city lies in the ocean , so beach days are a must . Good food – local favorite spots are Thatch, Mandolin , Lemoni Cafe , and an Italian feast at Cecconis. Then I’d take my friend to little Haiti and Wynwood to experience some art .

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Well, that’s quite difficult to express in just one short paragraph. I would ultimately break this down to my friends whom if close enough – have become my family. I am grateful for them for supporting my journey, walking me off a few ledges when times have gotten tough and for inspiring me along the way.
