We had the good fortune of connecting with Tamar Daneshrad and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tamar, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?

I was born in Iran and moved to Los Angeles at the age of twelve. Starting at age 5, I became extremely inquisitive and eager for knowledge regarding the mysteries of the world. I questioned things that seemed unquestionable to everyone else around me. I asked questions about God, our existence and humanity. I asked why there was such division between people, cultures and countries. I had deep compassion for suffering and ever since I can remember, I had a desire to heal people. I formed the idea that I wanted to be a physician and became incredibly dedicated to my education. I was pre-med at UCLA when I married and I had the realization that when we had children, I wanted to spend as much time with them as possible. My pre-med plans changed and I decided to go to pharmacy school. However my first day in, I knew it was a mistake. It just felt terribly wrong, but alas there was no going back. While in pharmacy school, as I learned about drugs and witnessed how they acted in the body and all the potential harm, I embarked on my journey into alternative healing modalities. I learned about homeopathy, naturopathy, herbs and so on. That is about the same time that I found Kabbalah which ultimately shaped who I am today. I received the answers to questions I longed for from my childhood. I learned about the deeper meaning of life and the human journey. Another defining moment was being introduced to BodyTalk. This healing modality allowed me to bring together all my diverse training, giving me the ability to contribute to my clients on a deeper level. Since then, I have cultivated more tools and raised my four children to adulthood. Now I enjoy working with mothers and empowering them to be their true selves.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
It’s been a journey and it’s not over yet. I wouldn’t say it has been a hard journey, but it hasn’t been easy either but I purposely chose the less easy path. It is one thing to learn spirituality and possess the knowledge of your gifts you were meant to share with the world but it’s another thing to know it in your heart and manifest it. I went through the shame around not being as good as others and guilt over waiting so long to get started and studying the wrong things. I had to work through my limiting beliefs and thoughts, such as “who do you think you are” and “how can you help others if you can’t help yourself.” However I dug deep to find the courage to move past my fears. I had to overcome being judgmental of myself and beating myself up over not showing up perfectly and completely for my kids, my parents, friends, and clients. Over the years I connected to amazing people and learned different techniques that have allowed me to grow. I have learned I don’t need to be perfect in order to contribute to others. If anything these struggles have made me a better healer. I’ve learned how to have more joy and ease in my journey and it’s so exciting to help my clients to have the same. I facilitate mothers to dissolve fears, stress and tension, to feel better, physically, mentally and emotionally, to identify their desires, establish grounding and self-care tools that work, and achieve their life and/or career goals.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It is challenging to dedicate my Shoutout to only a few people or organizations. I’ll start with my parents who supported me and encouraged me but also provided me challenges that helped me figure out who I am and what my boundaries are. My children, who through raising them, I also raised myself. Through the Kabbalah Centre and my Kabbalah Community, I learned what it is to endeavor to be spiritual and to keep raising the bar. The above mentioned and more have encouraged me and led me to the road of being my true self.
