Meet Priscilla Gomez: Portrait Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Priscilla Gomez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Priscilla, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Well, I believe it chose me. I have always been drawn to the arts. Expressing myself with words has never been my forte, so through music, art and photography I found many ways to manifest my feelings. When I take a photograph or a series of photographs I hope it tells a story and that it relays a message or a feeling, as any artist would hope.  

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I tend to trust the flow of things. If it feels right, then I continue on that path. I am most excited about taking everything I have learned and continue to learn, to CREATE & SHARE! There are many lessons that I have learned along the way. It’s going to be 10 years since I started documenting people & moments. The greatest lesson for me has been, to NEVER doubt my ability, my gift and all that I offer. I would love the world to know that I love to create, for the sake of creating! I hope that whoever I cross paths with, can feel inspired, genuinely happy and feel like they’ve known me for years. Essentially, all I want is to capture people’s essence, their beauty & their story.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I don’t really go out as much lately so I am not too sure what’s “poppin” these days haha But I’ve always enjoyed going to eat in Midtown Miami, grabbing drinks in Wynwood & going to the parks and beaches! 

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Marina Mougious from Ambiance Studio, was my mentor for a couple of years before I started my own photography business. I worked with her as her assistant and second shooter. I am so thankful for her time and kindness through it all. She gave me so much insight, knowledge and the push that helped me realize that I can have my very own business one day too! The support from my parents has been essential, always believing in me and encouraging me to dream bigger. There are no words to express how much I appreciate them! My husband is my number one fan. I take his constructive criticism  of my work earnestly. He’s VERY honest & I truly appreciate it 😉 He makes me feel like the sky isn’t even a limit for my dreams. A special thank you to my friends and family that support/love and share my work. It is truly amazing to feel the genuine love!!
