Hi Vla, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
For me quitting is not an option, Yes I do get frustrated at times especially at how the game is being played but hey it’s what I signed up for. I just try my best to not lose focus on why I started rapping in the first place, and that was simply just the love of music, being able to tell my story in my own creative way.I kid you not, every time I feel like my career isn’t going anywhere I always get a sign to keep going and to be honest, this interview is one of my recent signs lol.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well what sets me apart from others is basically my story and living my truth, I’m married with two daughters,I remember there was a time in hip hop where things like this was kinda like taboo.Artists like Jay-Z made it cool a lil bit but it’s still not a lot of us rapping about things like that and that’s when it gets a lil difficult. For the simple fact that I want to live my truth in my music, creating concepts can be difficult.I go through writers block, because at the same time I want to interpret my message cool and smooth as possible basically I don’t want it to sound boring Lol,but I get through it by simply by living my life and taking notes on repetitive conversations I have with my family and friends.Being consistent is the biggest thing I’ve learned in this game and that what helps me get recognized from my peers.What I want the world to know about my brand and story may sound cliche but it’s the truth. I just want the world to know that here’s a guy in his early 30’s who refuses to give up on his dreams no matter how long it might take and who’s living his truth to the fullest.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well I live in Miami a tourist driven city so there’s lots to do but I would try to steer them off of the touristy activities at first. I would recommend that they try a spot around Lil Haiti called Pack Supermarket, where they serve fried drumsticks and fried plantains, and trust me when I tell you it’s so delicious!!! Authentic Haitian Style fried chicken.I would then take em around are art district area which has a lot of cool bars/lounges and dope art. Then hit up my jet ski plugs for an affordable price of course.Then take em on a boat ride with the same plug I got the jet skis from also for an affordable price.We can definitely grab drinks in the in art district area that I mentioned earlier. I would stay clear from south beach because it’s not the same anymore and the authorities really don’t like us over there meaning minorities, but we can always go to another beach that’s just as beautiful. I would also bring them to Gulfstream which has a casino and outdoor and indoor dining, a club, many outdoor bars around the facility with plenty of music playing outside and there is also a karaoke spot over there and also a bowling spot that’s really cool can’t really go wrong at Gulfstream.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First off I want to shout out my wife, who continues to motivate me, she’s a big part of the reason why I decided to go with my house nickname as my stage name. She always gets me right on track whenever I doubt myself and I would also like to shout out my cousin/brother Groundwork Doe who is also an artist, he always motivates me by his work ethic and no beating around the bush attitude.
