We had the good fortune of connecting with Pablo Grand and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pablo, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking

Risk, I feel, plays a huge role in my life and the steps I’ve taken to get here. Not many people are willing to wake up and say I’m going to pursue music and look for legitimate ways to make it happen. If you think about it, every great story involves greater risk. Cinderella met her lover at the ball she risked to sneak out to. MLK and the famous sit-in protests for equality — they risked their lives for the greater good that ultimately came. Aladin freeing Genie was risking his love for Jasmine in a sense. So yeah, I feel like it’s pretty important to get far and, surprisingly, I think a lot of people don’t take enough risk. The risks I’ve taken in my life have only solidified one thing for me: anything is possible if you set your intentions on it. Truly I tell you, you will never cross the ocean if you don’t risk losing sight of the shore. Risks have led me to create events that have fueled my music career as well as filled my pockets. They have opened doors of opportunity for me and my music by putting us in front of people connected to VIP within the industry. It’s also led me down new sounds within my music! Although I also credit my eclectic taste for that haha. Ultimately, taking risks is important. At least that’s how I look at it.


Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I got started in music through theatre. In highschool, I took theatre as my main elective and I ended up competing for the school. I wanna say it’s what ultimately got me started professionally because back then, I created an improv troupe whose sole purpose, at that time, was to fundraise money to later compete at states. We ended up accomplishing that goal by selling out our first couple shows. It was so successful that it’s still in my former high school; they even do shows at other schools now. Something small that I started in 2014 has grown to be so much more by 2021. That’s the beauty of the impact I leave behind; it’s bigger than us and it’s here to stay way after me.

Doing that later gave me the confidence to start throwing events within the music scene once I chose to pursue that full heartedly.

What got me into music was an old friend of mine who picked me up from Dallas, Texas to road trip back to Miami, Florida. Our phones were disconnected so we had to buy an old school map and make our way back down the old fashioned way. During that time he had a little mp3 with instrumentals. It was then I learned to freestyle back in 2016.

My art is set apart from the rest because I’m not following a trend to get famous. I wanna heal people with my music, talk from experience and point others in the right direction because I’ve made so many mistakes that I want to teach others how to steer clear from them. Going back to those risks, I took them and they became a foundation for me to pursue my career. Was it easy? Nope. I don’t think anything worth having in life is though. Blood, sweat, and tears baby. I want the world to know nothing can stop me and everything is within reach. Knock me down 9, I’ll get back up cause I’m still breathing. That’s just who I am and I hope to inspire others to be the same; I mean, I do already. All the people around me are a reflection of that. Just ask anyone to tell you and they will.


If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Miami’s got so many fun things to do, aw man. Okay food wise I’d take em to Lokal & Kush restaurant, they have really good food. I’d say get the Frita Cubana Burger and go to Flanigan’s Restaurant for the ribs. Tap 42 for brunch. Drinks or a night out I’d say Wynwood. (Gotta stay away from South Beach) Hit up El Patio, Wood Tavern (if it was still open, RIP), Racket, Gramps, No 3. Social. For shows and events: Backroom Sessions MIA, Roots Miami Kava, Vice City Love shows  (my event company (; ). Even MadeinPhilly got some good shows. Oletta State Park is definitely good for a little kayaking get away. Recently hit up the water for a little date. I’d go to the beach but only for the beach. I hate south beach, it’s a huge tourist trap. Don’t do it!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My whole team! I don’t think I’d be anywhere without the foundation I’ve built around me. They’ve become like family to me because they’ve allowed me to not only trust them but really rely on them and that’s something we don’t get in this day and age. Hard to come by genuine people. Our collective is called All Above One because that’s what we believe in but yeah – I’d give credit to my manager Dana, my producers Richi-Envoy and Jengel as well as my engineers Lowki and Charlie, who are good friends of mine, respectively. My friends Morrakz, Azl Rock, The Kid, and Chris for being there. Roots Miami Kava and Wear Love Hope for giving me a platform for my music. Been pretty blessed along the way to meet many good people. What can I say?
