We had the good fortune of connecting with Esmeralda Pineiro and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Esmeralda, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
‘It’s never too late.’ Something that I have had to remind myself coming into my new calling at age 33. It’s taken me years to figure out what it was I truly love to do and to find a way to turn that love into a career. My love for animals, especially horses, is what drove me to start Equestrianaire Body Work. I never really knew where I fit in as far as the equine world goes. I was never a professional rider and I didn’t grow up with horses. I just had a great love for them and I loved being around them. So diving into everything equine in my 30’s was a little intimidating. I would just remind myself daily that it’s never too late to start something new as long as you have the drive and persistence to keep on going, and success will soon follow.
What should our readers know about your business?
Equestrianaire Body Work was created from the love I have for horses. I’ve always found grooming horses to be very therapeutic and rewarding for me so I decided why not turn this into a business. It’s great to see the horses and their owners happy after I am done grooming them. I take a lot of the stress off of someone who may not have the time to give their horse a nice bath, brush and/or clip. I faced a few challenges as I got started with my business. Most of it was mental. Psyching myself out. Not thinking I could really do this and become successful at it. But with the right people around me and some digging deep I was able to jump over the hurdles that were holding me back from pursuing what I love. It’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life because when you do something you love it never feels like work.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would definitely go to the beach. I live six blocks from the ocean so that is somewhere I love to spend my days off. For some good authentic Spanish food I would definitely take them to Las Olas in South Beach. For dinner we’d probably head to Brickell. There are a lot of nice places to eat there. Brunch with bottomless mimosas are a must on Sundays. Maybe rent some jet skis one day or go paddle boarding. There’s always something to do here in Miami!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I first and foremost want to thank my other half. Caleb has been the most supportive person through everything I’ve done this past year. He reminds me daily to not give up and that I am fully capable of doing whatever I put my mind to. I’d also like to very much thank my mom and dad. They’ve always supported me and given me optimistic praises with whatever I’ve wanted to do. They have always been my biggest cheerleaders.
