We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Scott Bonilla and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My mother came to this country as an immigrant at 26 years old, a two week visa and $100 in her purse. 3 Years after being in this country she was a citizen and opened her only salon. She has been her own boss for 34 years and she has definitely been such an inspiration that I too can be a leader and self employed. The perks of not having to ask anyone to take a vacation or being able to raise my son full time while being a boss mom was my biggest drivers to start my own business.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Customer Service and Personalty I would say sets me apart from the rest besides having bad a** photobooths. I am very honest with my clients. I aim to please and make sure my clients are 1000% booking my services. I pride myself in going above and beyond to putting a smile on peoples faces. From the client who booked us down to every guest at their event. If you’re not happy I am definitely not happy. Starting this company was not easy as any company it takes lots of funding before you can reap the benefits. Thankfully I got into the industry at a great time. Word of mouth is important to us so delivering more than what is expected is what made us take off like wild fire. Ive learned that you can’t make everyone happy but making the effort is what counts for the majority of people. I want people to know that every single thing happens for a reason. Had I not had a boss who didn’t like me (which is weird everyone likes me lol) and got me let go from my radio job I wouldn’t have started Magic Mirror Miami Photobooths. So thank you sir… look at me now =D
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take her around Wynwood, Downtown and Key Biscayne. Something about Miami has so much magic its unexplainable. I would definitely take her to eat at World Famous House of Mac so she could try the lobster Mac and take her to get a drink at Mojito bar in bayside. I would then take her around South Beach because you can’t not go there and not see why Will Smith worse a song about us. LOL
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mommy. I’m a Momma’s Girl and without that wonderful angel I would’ve have been able to start my business. She truly is the meaning of what a mother is. Selfless, loving, caring and a tough cookie.
