We had the good fortune of connecting with Crystal Knights and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Crystal, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my business is simply giving myself permission to be authentically me. No matter what other businesses are doing, I don’t compare myself to them because I created my own path, so I remain true to myself and stay in my lane.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Proud Stylez is an online custom t-shirt and apparel company that combines our love for people with our passion for creative expression. We specialize in bringing the expressions of our customers to life through our custom statement t-shirts. We make it easy for you to express yourself creatively through fashion via statement tees. What sets me apart from others is that I enjoy being different. I have never been a huge fan of conforming to the trends or the norms because I am comfortable with being the woman I have become. I know that many people complain about starting from the ground up, but I am actually the proudest of that fact because I became a strong business woman as a result. I have a strong background in Customer Service, Finance, and HR, which helped me get to where I am today in business and strengthened my overall business mindset. This was not easy at all in the beginning, but the combination of prayer and perseverance have helped me to overcome many challenges throughout my business journey. What I would want the world to know is that it’s okay to pace yourself. It’s so easy to feel rushed in a world that’s oversaturated with social media, but stick to your own goals despite what others are doing. My business is “my baby”, so I nutured it based on what I thought was best, not based on the thoughts of others.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Considering that we are still in the middle of a pandemic, travelling is still questionable overall. But, for the sake of this question, if I were visiting Miami again, I would take them to hang out at Biscayne Bay so we could soak up the atmosphere and eat at the Rusty Pelican!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out my husband who has been there for me behind the scenes of Proud Stylez. I appreciate the late nights and early mornings that he has made himself available to help my business run smoothly.
