We had the good fortune of connecting with Diana Perez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Diana, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I believe the most important thing has been to set an example for them to follow their dreams. Before kids, I was motivated but once I became a mother the drive to succeed grew. I want my kids to follow their dreams, what better way than by showing them how mom follows hers. I always talk to them about following their heart, work for what they want to do, and always have confidence in themselves. Mindfulness and self-care have been the biggest thing I focus on so that they can grow to be who they want to be.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I like to say I see the world as a grand piece of art. I incorporate my artistic skills with social media and try to create something unique. Every business or person I work with tells me their story, and how they want me to bring it to reality, I observe the unique qualities of their idea and bring it to life. I feel I have a way of seeing the unseen gift and ability of people I work with. The inspiring perspective others have not seen. The road has not always been easy. I doubted myself for a long time and so, I took the safe route. The more I got out of my comfort zone, the more people noticed what I did and it has grown from there. I want the world to be inspired. To see their own light and I hope that I can help bring light to them through my creations. Whether it is a painting, sculpture, mural or social media post.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I don’t go out much. But there are a few places I enjoy a lot. Walking around Lauderhill Beach Visiting my local Barnes and Noble Explore small parks around the city The Norton Museum of Art Flamingo Gardens Museum of Discovery and Science And a good walk around the neighborhood. When you stop and just explore what’s near you. You see the beauty all around you
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband. He has been my rock and my support every step of the way. No matter how I feel and what crazy idea I bring to the table, he is there to support me and remind me how much I want this crazy dream.
