We had the good fortune of connecting with The Vegan Trap Queens and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi The Vegan Trap Queens, how does your business help the community?
We’re vegan chefs and wellness coaches with a focus on spirituality. Our mission is to show people that healthy living is attainable at every income level. We believe that we are what we eat and that what we think, we become. Veganism has a positive effect on not only our environment and bodies, but also our minds and souls. We cook food that uses herbs, spices, and ingredients that have been proven to heal chronic and regular illnesses. Eboni, ½ of Vegan Traphouse, was prescribed 7 different medications for Glaucoma and Lupus. Women have the highest rate of Lupus in the U.S. Since changing her lifestyle, Eboni no longer needs any medication. She is a walking testament that what we do truly works. Michele, the other ½ of the duo, weighed over 200 lbs before switching her lifestyle. Struggles with weight loss and illnesses are as emotional as it is physical. Michele’s background in counseling is no coincidence. It’s this understanding of how our physical health is tied to our emotional and spiritual well being that makes the Vegan Trap Queens stand out. Self-care is mind, body AND soul. Michele’s specialization in Astrology and Tarot helps raise the bar for health and wellness. Michele uses her intuitive skills and counseling experience to help others reconnect with their soul’s purpose. We know that healing begins in the spirit and finishes in the body. We believe that when we help our clients be their best selves we help each other make the world a better place.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets us apart may be the easiest thing about us to pin down. We’re psychic vegan chefs. We give great recipes and even better tarot readings and astrological advice. We’re very proud of our festival wins and being featured as the only vegan caterer at TedX, however, we’re most proud of the lives that we’ve affected with our message of health and healing. Our personal lives and business meet between health and spirituality. Once we began to understand that spiritual and emotional wellness are just as important as physical health, we expanded our focus. We often say that we’re vegan for spiritual reasons because it encompasses our whole mission and state of mind. Veganism came first. We had a desire to be healthy and help others do the same. We worked hard on getting our spiritual and physical health in tip top shape and then we set out to tell others what successes we had. It wasn’t easy to do or get the word out. Healing is a real ugly beautiful kind of process and people aren’t always receptive to it but we persisted. We’ve been able to save lives and heal real people with real issues.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’re beach bums so we would surely take our friends on endless night walks on the beach after hitting up all the best vegan spots around town! Vegan Cuban cuisine is a must when you’re in the city. After dinner, we’d hit up our favourite night club, King of Diamonds. The next day we’d take them to Gifford Arboretum and the Miami Botanical Garden. For Instagram purposes, we’d take them to Fat Tuesdays and Wet Willies. And we’d end the last few days hanging around in the art district making memories and sharing laughs.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to our Chiang Mai & Blackpackers Familes. They were and still are our biggest supporters. To Michele’s mother, Linda for being a supportive mom to us both.
