We had the good fortune of connecting with MARC.MADE and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi MARC.MADE, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success as an artist and brand executive is my Creative Consistency. The first part, “creative”, is literally thinking of unique ways to provide authenticity through my content, whether that be aesthetically-pleasing atmospheres, intricate storytelling, imaginative and trendy designs, interactive products and collaborations. Secondly, I want to immerse my audience in this complete experience of artistry “consistently”, so that they are able to know and witness the unknowns as often as I can deliver. When someone taps in to my content, they will see this was not an overnight espionage, but an entire saga with the catalog, visuals and product to show.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
So what’s so cool about me (and extremely rare from a hip-hop standpoint) is I am actually a Doctor in Mechanical Engineering. Currently I am a full-time scientist that develops Prototypes and Mechanical Reliability Systems for The MITRE Corporation. I can’t go into too much detail (due to NDAs), but what I can say is I work across a plethora of domains to solve future problems and advance technologies. Getting to a position like this in my opinion isn’t extremely difficult (what’s hard is becoming a professional athlete or being an astronaut), but is literally the result of staying consistent in my domain, learning a specific science, networking through opportunities and when given the platform, being able to communicate my knowledge, creative processes and applications of that said science. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED, whether through energy, analogy or application. I literally expanded my comprehension of topics by applying lessons learned from completely opposite worlds. For instance, creating my icebreaker game CHOOSIN @choosingame taught me to communicate concisely during deliverable presentations in front of committees. I apply my research and dissertation writing to my lyrical storytelling through MARC.MADE Music @marc.made. Lastly, my experiences on TV in VH1’s Dating Naked (S1E5 & Wedding Special) and CBS’s Face the Truth contribute to creating unique and interactive atmospheres at networking and career fairs to stand out amongst crowds. IT ALL CONNECTS SOMEHOW, SOMEWAY.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So if you were in ATL, the biggest flex is using Eventbrite! There are all sorts of spots, everyday, from day parties (Downtown or Buckhead) to night clubs/lounges (use Eventbrite lol it’s dozens) and bar scenes (Buckhead or Edgewood bars) littered throughout the city. The good thing about ATL is the southern hospitality so you can really find a good vibe, with great DJs, beautiful people and free entry (through RSVP on Eventbrite) all around the city. There are theme parks like Six Flags and Whitewater that are must-dos and restaurants galore with my favorite being Big Chow Grill, which is kind of a buffet-style, Mongolian grill but you make your own concoctions (veggies, rice, meats and seasons) and they cook it for you for as many times as you can eat… all for one price of like $16.99 lol

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely! I would like to attribute my successes and evolution thus far to my MADE producers: DJ Mari @ilovedjmari, DJ Bigg Bang @djbiggbang and LeiGitimate Productions @leigh.dog. I would also like to give a huge shoutout to other producers who have added to my sound and catalog: UncommonArt @uncommonart, T1K Productions @t1kofficial, L. Kendrell @lamarkburton_phd, Charlie Tripp @charlietrippmusic and PrimeTime Beatz @primetimebeatz! Next I would like to give my gratitude to my Videography team: Range of View Productions @rovproductions and their affiliates at ROV Academy @rovacademy for capturing and contributing to my creative direction! Of course I have to shoutout my engineer who got me sounding crisp: JP Engineerin’ of PMG Studios in Atlanta, GA @jpengineerin! Lastly, I would like to thank God, my loved ones, my collaborators, my consistent supporters and my Top Model shorty Cidnee Gray @itscidnee for always finding a way to support me and repost me on her platform! I love and appreciate all of y’all.
