We had the good fortune of connecting with Gonzalo Bonilla and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gonzalo, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born in Lima, Peru and raised in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil but I consider myself to be a citizen of the world. I have lived in +13 countries across Europe, Africa, The Middle East, North and South America. This global lifestyle experience has enabled me to create a solid and strong professional and personal network which I consider to be one of my greatest asset in life and who I’ve become today.

This multi-cultural circumstance has transformed me to be easily adaptable to changes, have an increased empathy to understand other people’s perspectives on a situation, better equipped to face challenges, a happier person and a better friend and employee.

What should our readers know about your business?
ViacomCBS is a combined company and one the world’s largest and most influential content creators, driven by iconic consumer brands and powerful global businesses across content, production, advertising, and distribution. Our Consumer Products licensing portfolio is wide and amazing! I am proud to represent global iconic brands such as Sponge Bob, Paw Patrol, Garfield, The Ninja Turtles and MTV for global licensing and promotional partnerships with leader consumer product brands such as Danone, Kellogg’s, Unilever, Havaianas and Loreal to mention a few.

ViacomCBS has taught me to work smarter not harder so that we can all enjoy the ride!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I have always been a “Miami Boy” at heart and I used to daydream about someday living in this vibrant city! The mojitos, exotic cars, and neon string bikinis still blows my mind and I most definitely want to show all this magic to any friend or family visiting. The perfect trip would start with a delicious American/Mexican breakfast by the beach at the Soho Beach House. I am passionate about art deco so I would rent a bike to do some sight seeing under the sun and check out the pastel-colored mid-century buildings and mansions. I love the concept of “Less is more”. To me, having just the essential things in life is better than having way too much of superfluous things as it allows you to focus on what really matters, therefore “La Natural”, a neighborhood restaurant located in Little River serving sourdough pizza, vegetables & natural wines in a relaxed indoor-outdoor space would most certainly be my ideal place of choice to have lunch with any visitors. I would then check out the art scene in Miami and visit local art galleries and museums specially the Rubell Museum, one of the biggest private contemporary collection in North America. To top it all off, I would end the evening at Casa Tua Miami Beach at the upstairs lounge, zip some cocktails and dance the night away.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
ViacomCBS has been the company that I have been happily working for the past 8 years. It has not only been a great experience to be part of this global media & entertainment family but it has been an amazing platform to continue to thrive in an international work environment not only within the Consumer Products business but also by being part of the D&I (Diversity & Inclusion) team ensuring that everyone has an equal opportunity to contribute and influence every part and level within our workplace ensuring that everyone feels safe and appreciated.

Inclusion has always been a crucial pillar in my personal life to be able to continue to reach my development potential from a personal and professional stand point.
