We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaron Owens and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aaron, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My brand is dedicated to my first cousin by the name of Vernon Evans. I started Y.G.L Clothing company to keep his name alive and build motivation in our communities.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Y.G.L Clothing is a representation of God and Life changing experiences. 10% of our proceeds is given to the homeless and less fortunate. We cater to men women and children of all ages, even seniors. I’m most proud of our partnership with Walmart and landing our first billboard in times square! With God, hard work and believing in myself, has gotten me where I am today. Some lessons I have learned along the way is to be wise of who you surround yourself with and Love even when your not loved in return. I want the world to know that we are here to stay and help push the fashion culture to new levels in the fashion industry. Nothing in life comes easy!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Shared interest- museums, fashion District, wine tasting, fabric sourcing, parks.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout God, my daughter’s, family, brand ambassadors and my Team behind the scenes. Also my mentor T.D.Jakes!
