We had the good fortune of connecting with Diana Campo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Diana, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I had always had in mind to create a business that I love, taking advantage of the fact that I like fashion, besides I was involved in the miami and fortlauderdale fashion week shows in 2017/2018/2019, I decided to create an online store where I could work with fashion and help my clients to find the best look with handmade accessories of the best Colombian quality and Colombian textile. At the beginning I was scared because it was something new for me, I stopped working on fashion blogging and needed to start by zero but, when I started creating content about it, it felt I was back in business again.
What should our readers know about your business?
I started this online store because I love fashion, and also I wanted to show people that where I come from, we have the best textile quality. Colombia has so many great things in the fashion industry that people don’t know yet… I’m proud to be Colombian. I love to sell clothes and handmade accessories with excellent quality so my customer can be satisfied, it hasn’t be easy but when your dream is big your efforts are bigger than that. All this time I have learned that you can’t quit by the first obstacle, there are days the store is so quite… but I just need to be patient and trust that everything comes and goes and everything has its time. I want the world to know I have items with excellent quality, fashionable accessories, very unique and original, also that I am a mom chasing her dreams and at the same time raising the child she was waiting for many years and finally came Thanks to God.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Actually when my family and friends visit me, I take them to bayside marketplace in Miami, we have brunch there in @laindustriamiami then we take a tour in one of the boats, it’s so relaxing and fun. Later we explore around miami design district where are so many exquisite restaurants to have lunch like the swan, MIA market miami, pura vida and amazing art places to take pictures with. I live in Fortlauderdale so we never missed a walk in las olas boulevard during the night having dinner there in Louie bossi or piazza italia our fav. Omg! there are so many great places to go that I need to give you an itinerary for a week, I feel so blessed living in this beautiful city that you feel you’re vacationing all the time.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m very Thankful with God, it’s not easy to start your own business with a baby boy, but Thanks God I have always had the support of my parents, my husband and my lovely friends: Gloria, Teresa and Amreen. I have been surrounded by these people who have helped me in so many ways so I can reach my personal and professional goals. Their advices that encourage me every day are so important like “the sales” because when you have a good mental health you’re strong enough to take risk and not be afraid of anything, you give your 100%
