Meet Nathalia Copeland | Business Coach + Mentor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nathalia Copeland and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nathalia, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk taking goes hand-in-hand with self-trust and knowing that you’ll be able to adjust course if things don’t work out exactly as planned. I’ve taken huge risks in my life from an early age.
At 17, I invested my entire savings into a business attempt and lost every penny. At 22, I quit a soul-sucking job with no backup and lots of bills to pay. At 26, I invested $80k into a masters degree and then got an entry level job in my field that barely paid me $12/hour.
Each time, I found a way to recover – learn from the experience and get one step closer to my goal.
Looking back at these risks, if I had allowed the initial outcome to paralyze me from taking future risks in my life and career – I’d never be where I am today.
Instead of becoming risk-averse when something didn’t turn out exactly the way I planned, I learned to pivot and didn’t judge myself about not getting it right on the first try.
Today, I no longer see my entrepreneurial investments as risks. I see them as another stepping stone leading me closer to my inevitable success.
If I hadn’t taken those risks in my life early on – I might have conditioned myself to be so afraid that I would never have started the multiple 6-figure business I own today. And the biggest risk you can take is living a life where you won’t even let yourself try.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I help entrepreneurs sell digital products online with automated marketing funnels. I teach you how to create an asset that can be leveraged for years to buy you back more time and freedom when building your business. I’ve helped over 10,000 entrepreneurs with my free and paid content over the last 5 years.
There were so many challenges because I let my #hustle mentality get the best of me when I got started. I wanted to do it all myself, learn everything for free and fell into the perfectionist traps of wanting it to be perfect before launching.
When I finally hired a coach, invested in online courses and hired help is when I started to see success. It’s also when things started to feel more fun and easy. If you’re in the process of building a business and every day feels heavy, overwhelming and stressful – it’s time to make a change.
I was raised by two Brazilian immigrant parents, the hardest working people I knew growing up. They gave me a life 100x better than the one they had as kids. My mother cleaned houses and my father owned a 1-man carpet cleaning business.
They taught me that through grit and hard work, in America, I really could do anything I wanted. That instilled a powerful work ethic inside me.
But there was a flaw…
The flaw in their teaching was that I had to work 50+ hours/week over 30+ years to finally retire and then, I could live out my dreams.
It’s a belief a lot of entrepreneurs have as well…
You have to hustle.
Pay your dues.
Nothing comes easy.
And it’s one of the worst things you can do in your business building dreams and for your own sanity.
You quickly burn out and lose that passion you had when you started your business. Suddenly, that 9-5 doesn’t sound so bad if it means lifting the enormous pressure off your shoulders.
I refused to let that be my story and it doesn’t have to be yours.
Once you switch your focus from trading time for money and creating evergreen assets that work for you – it’ll cut your workload in half while doubling your income. And that’s why I launched The F.A.S.T. Academy™.
To give entrepreneurs the quantum leap I wish I had when I started. To give them a clear and proven path to success that doesn’t end in burnout. And to take ownership of your time, your life and your financial freedom.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In Honolulu, I love taking a long drive up to the north shore, visiting the food trucks in front of the banzai pipeline, watching the pro surfers. Then stopping at Kewala Bay which is a secret beach hardly any tourist go to – swim with the turtles and just enjoy golden hour. On the way home, stop at Maya’s Tapas and then finish off the night at a brewery in Kaka’ako. Lanikai Beach is also my favorite beach in the entire world – must do if you come to the island. If you can splurge for a helicopter tour – there’s no better way to see the island than on a 50-minute tour from the sky. And for hikes, Crouching Lion and Lanikai pillbox are fun, short hikes with breathtaking views.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband, David Copeland, has always been my biggest supporter and fan. He encouraged me to get my masters degree, supported me when I started my business and didn’t let me take the “easy way” out when I was struggling and thought about throwing in the towel and going back to a 9-5 job.
Today, I hold space for my clients and believe in them when they struggle to believe in themselves. It’s so important that you have someone in your corner for that because the ups and downs of reaching the top is 10 times harder if you try to go at it alone.
