We had the good fortune of connecting with Elodie Alcindor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elodie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting the “Little Black Book” store was to share and provide access to the tools I’ve used along my spiritual and healing journey. I got a lot of questions about how I learned to cope and what my process of enlightenment was like and I realized that many women who looked like me didn’t know where to begin in healing their trauma and becoming a stronger, healthier version of themselves.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
“Little Black Book” is a healing store. I’m so proud of creating a store that provides access to holistic healing resources to women of color. I am proud to reach a place of transparency in sharing parts of my journey and healing practices. Building my business has not been easy; it has definitely stretched my levels of comfort, but thinking of all of the women who will benefit from my store help me push through. I have learned that our journey and our lessons are not our own, They are ours to share and empower others.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Wednesday – Premiere Lounge Thursday – R & B Night at Da Cave Miami
Friday – Dinner at Prohibition – 8pm
Saturday – Dinner at Villa Azur Miami Beach and a club after
Sunday – Beach Day at Newport Hotel

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shout out to my beautiful friends @JoDoesHair, @GlowWithLoMiami and @_MimasTouch who held space for me on this journey. It was not easy at all and there were days when I just needed some gentle, feminine energy and guidance and they were there every step of the way to talk to, confide in and see myself clearly.
