We had the good fortune of connecting with Brenda Boyd and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brenda, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
The most difficult decision I ever had to make was after I really saw and understood my potential. The difficult decision was to act on what I saw because I knew it would require vulnerability.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Feng Shui teacher and life coach who seeks to align my clients internal environment with their external. I believe that women are the heart of the home and that how happy and healthy the entire home is depends on her own wellbeing. The mission of my business is to awaken women to the immense value of their lives by teaching practical tips for transformation within the home and within the self. Brenda Boyd Design is known as” interior design meets personal growth”. What makes me so excited about my program is the ripple effects that happen afterward. I cherish each and every life that I connect with and it gives me the greatest pleasure in seeing my clients build up knowledge, confidence and best of all – self esteem – that flows over into every aspect of their lives, workplaces and communities. I did not grow up with these tools and attitudes and my life was very dark, lost and desperate for many, many years. Brenda Boyd Design is the blueprint for how I overcame codependency, clutter and no self-confidence.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a huge history, antique and garden lover! If I had a friend in town we would have to visit Olde Town Antiques in Fairview, TN. We would also need to spend a whole day at Cheekwood Gardens in Nashville. I would love to show them the famous Natchez Trace and visit several of my favorite historical sites along the trace and in Franklin, TN. Zanders Pizza in Dickson, TN is also an absolute wood-fired must!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank Lotus Life Coaching, Sonja Beck Art, Buried Moon, Mud Puddle Pottery, Trystology, Moss & Embers TN, Lisa A. Romano Life Coach, my family, friends, neighbors, my very first clients and most importantly my husband James.
