We had the good fortune of connecting with Duree Ross and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Duree, can you talk us a bit about why you love what you do?
I absolutely love what I do! There are many things I love about public relations and marketing but what fascinates me most is that I get to be involved in so many different industries. I get to really immerse myself in so many different fields and truly learn everything about each industry. Of course, helping clients move the needle and hit their PR and marketing goals is also something I love.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I was extremely lucky to “find” my calling in PR at the age of 19 when I was attending University of Miami. I am very proud that I started my company at the age of 24 and I’ve never looked back. We are celebrating 20 years in business this year! I never could have believed I would have the clients and business that I have today. It is absolutely NOT easy owning your own business — there is a lot of sweat equity and long hours when you own your own business.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Oh goodness! That’s a hard one. There are so many places to check out in South Florida. I am originally from South Beach and graduated high school from there, so I would probably start there. I always love Joe’s Stone Crab, a walk along Lincoln Road, and they have to “see” all that is South Beach for great people watching. The Design District has great shopping with a cool vibe. I also love to check out exhibitions at MOCA in North Miami. Fort Lauderdale has really evolved and I would also have them check out Las Olas Boulevard (fun people watching and eating) and the beaches along Fort Lauderdale. meandering around the Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District is fun, including visiting the Bonnet House. It’s also a special experience to take the the electric gondolas in the evening along the “Venice of the Americas” to see all the gorgeous homes from the water. Auberge is a great spot for the spa and dining. I also like S3 restaurant inside the Hilton as they have great sushi.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I had several mentors when I was starting out in PR. I am still friends with them today and truly grateful for our decades-long friendships. They certainly helped me become who I am and guided me along the way.
