We had the good fortune of connecting with Michele & Jennifer Kaminski and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michele & Jennifer, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
2 Korean Girls has been an idea that has been in the making for a while. We grew up with our Mother, who owns a Korean restaurant in our home town Indiana, cooking and teaching us her family’s recipes. 2 Korean Girls is a way for us to honor our Mother by using her sauces, seasonings, and recipes throughout our menu. We aim to share the love of our culture with the city of Miami.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We view our concept as a combination of e-commerce business and quick service food. We approached our menu and marketing from the perspective of a digitally native brand, problem-solving the issue of connectivity through social media and other modern engagement tactics. Jennifer & I understand the importance of building an emotional connection between our virtual brand and our customer base. In order for us to be successful, we had to stand out and we absolutely had to use social media strategically – such as infusing that cuteness overload from Korea that people know and love into each dining experience. In other words, we had to cultivate digital hospitality.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
2 Korean Girls could not be possible without the help and encouragement of our Mother, Sunny Kaminski, and Chef Consultant, Chef Allen Susser. With their guidance, they helped us streamline our Front of House and Back of House Ops. As any mentor will do, they watched us as we figured out a lot of the operations on our own but not letting our mistakes be too detrimental. The two of them have helped us grow stronger professionally and as sisters. Thank you.
