We had the good fortune of connecting with Denise Hart and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Denise, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
The single most important decision that I made that contributed to my success was the fact that I wanted to own my own time. I am a mother and friend to many. Those relationships need nurturing just as much as my business does. Running my own business affords me the freedom to make time for the people and the things that I love.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
It has not always been a smooth road. I am a mother of 5 children who are still living at home with me. I am currently going through a divorce and learning to love myself as I have neglected myself for others for many years. I am pursuing my masters in traditional Chinese medicine and that is a full time in itself. There are days where I am up at 5:45am and do not settle down for bed until midnight or later just do get up the next morning to do it all over again. I am very often tired, but I know that continuing on this path will not only bring joy to myself, but also create a legacy I can pass on to my children.

EnerQi Wellness LLC was created with the person who believes in a more holistic approach to their health and wellness. What we offer is not just massage therapy, but massage that includes acupressure that can not only address muscle tension and pain, but also common health problems. The common cold, fatigue, headaches and a myriad of other issues can be addressed with our style of massage.

What really sets us apart is that we are not looking at our clients and simply addressing the chief complaint, but we are assessing them in a way that allows us to address the root of the issue as well as suggestions that can improve their situation even when they are not on our table.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The first thing we would do is go to Indian Rocks Beach and enjoy the sunset. There are also so many impressive restaurants along the strip as well. I love this beach because it is not as busy as say Clearwater Beach. I would also take them to visit some of the well maintained parks in the area. You really can experience nature in such a preserved and peaceful setting. And the visit would not be complete without a taste of the nightlife. Downtown St. Pete has really stepped their game up with small bars, upscale dining but still maintaining a small town feel.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My kids are definitely my motivation. They are my cheerleaders and always give me that extra push when I need it. I also have a very dear friend that I met in school. Her name is Natasha Fix and she has been such a driving force in my life. She pushes me to be the very best version of myself. She doesn’t take no for an answer and doesn’t allow me to sit in despair. he is truly my sister and I am so thankful for our friendship!
