We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Lazarus and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Taylor, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always been interested in clothing, growing up my Dad always took me to work with him to his clothing manufacturer during the summer. I remember seeing all types of fabrics, machines, design software etc. I was not interested in making the same clothes that my father was producing but I believe these summers sparked the creative curiosity in me to one day create my own brand. Fast forward to 2021 my friend hired me to work for his company, OTM Printing, to help him print clothes for his own brand THE EDITION. Spending my days printing clothes I began to believe that it was possible for me to create my own brand one day. I am a fan of streetwear brands such as The Hundreds, Market, Billionaire Boys Club, and A Bathing Ape which is where I pull some of my inspiration from. I wanted to create a brand that stood for something and that also represented me. Trendless is a streetwear fashion brand that believes in going against the grain, believing in yourself, making your own trends. When you put on Trendless, we want you to feel like you are one of one, confident. There is no need to look around when all you have to do is look in the mirror. Trendless aims to provide its customers with quality and stylish clothes that makes you look and feel confident.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe the clothes that Trendless releases is high quality and provides the customers with a message. Im excited about the future collaborations that Trendless will be a part of with other local brands and brands that I grew up loving. I got to where I am from hard work, believing in myself and help from others. If there was something I didn’t know how to do I just asked someone who knew how to do it or I did my own research. The internet is a powerful thing, we can learn literally anything from google and YouTube. During my journey, I’ve learned there will be ups and down, we just need to power through the downs and stay humble through the ups. I want the world to know that Trendless will be around for a very long time and we will do whatever it takes to provide the world with the best quality clothes.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My friend comes to Miami we’re definitely going to hit Brickell and get some food from some of the best restaurants in the world. If we’re in the mood to chill and listen to good music we’re heading over to The Wharf for a good time. The Miami Heat are the best team in the NBA, so we’re definitely checking out a Heat game to watch them Miami Boys ball on the rest of the league. Boat days are a vibe, so I’m definitely hitting up some friends and chillin out in Biscayne Bay on the boat with some claws, happy dad and Apple Crown. To wind down a complete vibe in Miami, we’re going to hit the Design District to walk around and maybe spend some money on something expensive
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to thank my mother and father for helping me get to where I am. My mother has always been there pushing me to aim for the stars when sometimes I feel like giving up. She pushes me to be a better man and individual. Without her, the inner drive that I have never would have been lit. My father always supports me in my decisions and is my prime example of what hard working is. He has shown me what hard work and perseverance gets you, and that keeping your heart pure keeps you grounded. Without my parents truly loving and supporting me, every step of the way, I would not be where I am today. Thank you Mom and Dad.
Thanks to my friends also for believing in me and supporting me during this journey of achieving my dreams. You know who you are.
