We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Watson-Hubert and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want people to think of me as being authentically grateful. Every piece of jewelry that I finish has a story along with it. So, anytime I receive a picture of a ring on your finger or run into someone in the mall wearing my necklace, it fills my humble heart with a tremendous amount of love. I’m so thankful for every hard earned cent that my customers have spent to wear my jewelry. And I want all my patrons to know that there were tears, laughs, doubt and joy poured into every piece they adorn.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Every piece of jewelry I make is different. I don’t have patterns or templates. I customize my jewelry in the moment with what I’m feeling. Also, I hand pick every stone I set and I only purchase from American lapidaries. It’s important to me that my jewelry feels special to the person wearing it. The only way I knew how to do that was by making one-of-a-kind designs. There may be a necklace that looks similar to others, but one may be larger or a with different curve in the metal. My designs are made by hand and no two are alike!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would start the day in Coral Springs! The small business world is booming in this small city. There is a line up of stores on Sample Road and they are all so different. We would shop at Casa Decor + More, Corellia Gifts and Goods & end at Karma Bath Co. Then, we would head up north to West Palm Beach, where we would check in at Grandview Public Market for lunch (and some really great selfies!) and a Pumphouse iced latte. Next stop would be Olwen Jewelry, one of my favorite boho chic jewelry stores, and try to snag a seat with the popular, in-house tattoo artist, Olli Ink! Ending the night on Atlantic Ave in Delray Beach for a stop at Amanda Perna’s new store, A Little Wyld, followed by movie night at the iPic and dinner and Whit’s Ice Cream for their daily ice cream flavor. Very last, you’ll catch us at Rosewater Rooftop, above the brand new artsy hotel, The Ray, in downtown Delray for an after-everything drink.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The reason I began creating was a distraction and how I grieved the loss of my mother. In 2018, my family and I lost our family jewel to cancer. After spending the previous few years focusing on my mom, I was left with a void to fill. After a few attempts to find something I love, a jewelry design class was what stuck. I believe my mom was with me the entire time I was trying to find myself and a new passion. Every time I create a new piece, I believe she is next to me, cheering me on. In addition, I credit a lot of my success to my best friend, Stephanie Masselli, who always supports me and introduces me to great resources and the three owners of Casa Decor + More in Coral Springs, FL, Mary, Kayla & Melissa. They gave me an incredible opportunity to showcase my jewelry in their store and I will always be grateful for that opportunity to grow my business!
