We had the good fortune of connecting with Raquel Machado and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Raquel, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
If you don’t try you will never know . We spent a lot time thinking , talking but we need to put those words into action , someone told me : What is the worse that could happen?! . So I decided to go for it and put a stop to my fear of the unknown and trust more . Perfect love can cast away any fear , I always been passionate about helping others and to me this was my outlet but never in my wildest dream though I would be doing this . According to me I wasn’t the crafty type , I told myself .. you don’t have patience for that and now here I am .

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I wouldn’t compare myself to others since we are unique human beings , just the fact that I’m unique makes my work unique , the way I do things is not the same even though a lot people do exist in the creative industry and do what I do , There is room for all of us and I had to learn that and stop comparing myself … it took sometime ! that gave me freedom , I do get inspired by others and they set the bar pretty high but I love it. I’m very proud of what I do and every time I sit down to work on a project I enjoy it. People say trust the process and that’s true but you should know is not going to be comfortable sometimes, you will start doubting if you made the right decision lol so perseverance , dedication , consistency and asking for advice to the right people has been so important. I still have so much to learn . But as I walk I discover things about myself I did not know I had . I’m a daughter , I’m a wife, I’m a mother , I’m a friend , I like to create , I actually worked in the insurance industry since I was nineteen years old as a CSR, CS Underwriter and File clerk but decided to change paths during the pandemic

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
