We had the good fortune of connecting with Donn Suave and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Donn, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
My favorite quote is “Everybody who put me last, gonna feel me first.”
This means a’lot to me because people like me that have a career never get the love & support where we all needed it. People get left behind & everybody put them last just because they don’t have “clout” or “fame” to be supported & looked that. People pick & choose who they wanna “support” based on popularity & who’s “known” or what not, & it’s very unfortunate.
This quote motivates me every day & it gives me more drive & ambition because when I do make it on top & get the love & support that I deserve, so those same non-supporters that wasn’t there when I was nothing & put me last, I’m gonna make sure they gonna feel me first when I do become successful, on everything.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a music producer from Miami. I have my own YouTube channel & beat store where I sell my beats for aspiring artists & singers. The type of beats that I sell is pain beats, in the likeness of artists such as Rod Wave, Major Nine, YFN Lucci, Lil Durk, NBA Youngboy, NoCap, & a’lot more. My goal is not only just to just to provide beats in those styles for upcoming artists, but to also to secure multiple music placements with major artists. What set apart of me from other producers is that I have my own sound & style within pain beats. My beats are contains of soulful & ambient vibes but still contains a’lot of elements of where my beats is gonna take you.
How did I get where I am today professionally is because of YouTube. I don’t regret using YouTube as a platform to sell by beats and it was not easy to get where I am today. I had to start from zero & have to work my way up to have myself established on YouTube. How I overcome the challenges of selling my beats was being consistent & finding my own sound/style. I started uploading beats on July 2019 & it took a year & a couple months to actually for my channel to blow up & I starting breaking through in late September 2020.
One of the lessons I’ve learned along the way was consistency & having faith. Being consistent can get you a’lot further in life and that’s what YouTube had taught me. None of this happen overnight. I had faith in my craft & continue to upload my beats on YouTube consistently.
And last but not least, what I want the world to know about me and my career is that I am a one of a kind type of music producer & a pioneer of a growing scene in South Florida.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There’s many things to do here in Miami. We have the beaches, the best food, the clubs, & we also have an art district in Wynwood where they host art basels & venues. It’ alot of activities to do here in Miami.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother, my sister, my cousins, my family & my closest friends that I considered family. Y’all know who y’all are 🤞🏾🖤
