We had the good fortune of connecting with Latavia Nottage Bienaime and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Latavia, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
Everyone is born with a gift, an assignment to pursue, and at some point, hope to achieve. The value of this gift relies on you putting maximum effort and commitment to see it through. It’s that little boy or little girl that resonates within that says, “You can do it.” I believe when we allow outward influences and past traumas to bully or silence that voice, it leads us to ask ourselves, should we keep going or should we quit? I think the only thing we should quit is doubt. When you set your mind on something big or small it’s your duty to attempt different routes or just be still and allow a higher power to navigate the process. It’s when you reflect on the reason why you were eager in the first place that drives you to the next stop of your journey. The power in being aligned with your true self and your assignment will hold you accountable in my opinion. I believe we all carry a tool or have a solution to contribute to society. I think when we know we have something special to give, we can’t let it go.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
On this business journey there were so many routes to take nevertheless, I followed and trusted my instinct. I believe my business is where it is today due to social media influence, a willingness to keep pursuing it, networking and word of mouth. Looking back when my social media business page was hacked, I was devasted. Considering all of the time and effort I put in to promoting my page, I wanted to quit. I had no desire to start all over, I had to regroup then turn the page. This experience has taught me not to solely depend on social media and to develop a personal relationship with my clients to stay in touch. Additionally, I would like the world to know that it is my mission to create a mortuary service with care, comfort and cosmetic treatment that is cost effective.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Visiting Miami is more than just a visit, it’s an experience. Miami is known for its gorgeous beaches, warm climate, and tourist attractions. Some popular attractions include South Beach, Wynwood, Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Everglades National Park and the list goes on. Miami is diverse in culture. When it comes to dining, there are so many affordable places to choose from, like Haitian food from Chef Creole, Soul food from The Licking Miami, or Latin food from Mango’s Tropical Café on South Beach. Whether you’re an early bird or night owl, there is always something exciting to do.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Surely no one can achieve a goal without the help of someone else. I thank God for guiding me through my highs and my lows on my business venture, I know where my help comes from. I thank God for my husband’s hand in support and encouragement when I have doubt. My family, friends, and cyber pals have all played a part in my success, so thank you. I appreciate where I am today but am more excited about what’s to come.
