We had the good fortune of connecting with Nordine ‘Orsha’ and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nordine ‘Orsha’, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
For as long as I can remember Fashion has always been a true passion of mine. Since a child, I loved painting, drawing and making clothes for my dolls. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be a Fashion Designer or any career which allowed me to be creative. Fashion is an image of self-expression whether affordable or lavish. It allows me to reinvent, express, create & stand out from the rest of the crowd. Fashion also gives me confidence. If I look good, I feel good inside. The act of creating something, coming up with new ideas and bringing them to fruition is very gratifying. Being open to the creative experience is also a source of great joy.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

Circumstances of life took me on other career paths, but none felt fulfilling. The pandemic has been a wake-up call to reflect on how valuable and unpredictable life is. Everyone is bounded by fate and destiny, but often get discouraged by fear. I did not want to leave this life without fulfilling my dreams.
In August 2021 I decided to take a leap of faith toward my dreams. My deep desire and obsession with shoes drove me to create something of my very own, OrshaShoes, a luxury shoe brand to bring my visions to life. Each pair is handcrafted from the best materials by skilled artisans who stress every single detail. Committed to bringing high fashion, quality and unique designs to the everyday women who want to stand out.
What sets me apart from others is my work ethic and dedication to everything I do. I am naturally a creative person who constantly think out of the box and still seek ways of improving my skills. Having a creative mind allows me to do new and exciting things and engage in a way that takes me one step closer to reaching my full potential. I am excited about my new business venture, bringing my creative ideas to life and proud of myself for taking the first step towards something I have dreamed of since a child. I look forward to growing and developing my brand.
My main challenge is having a busy active mind. When I get in my creative space and have so many ideas it is sometimes difficult to stop my art form. I will work for hours on something, often staying up late at night until I am satisfied with my work. I am my biggest critic and a perfectionist, which is something I am still working on.
The greatest lesson I have learned along the way is to appreciate and even embrace the past as a source of knowledge, while still seeking improved ways of bettering myself. Follow your dreams and do not let anyone tell you differently. Remember “Through God All Things Are Possible” – Once we understand that God is capable of doing all things, we may have peace. Knowing that all things are possible through God is sometimes all we need to face our struggles and overcome.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There is so much to do in South Florida!! One of my favourite places to go is the beach to relax and reset. They can explore the shops, restaurants and nightlife in Las Olas, Miami Beach, Brickell, Wynwood walls and Miami Design District.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

No one truly knows the challenges and struggles I endure but God. So to God be the Glory for giving me the strength and perseverance to keep going despite any obstacles.
A huge thanks to my parents for teaching me the value of hard work and the importance of being a good person. For all their love and support in every aspect of my life. I would also like to express my gratitude to Tresan, Pauline, Sandra and Stacy for their encouragement and for always believing in me.
