We had the good fortune of connecting with Britney Marie Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Britney Marie, what do you want your legacy to be?
In an effort to be a boss, so many forget to be a blessing. I want my legacy to be one of kindness and gentleness. I want others to feel seen, understood, heard and loved as a result of interacting with me. I want to be known as a woman who loved God so deeply that it oozed from my pores and translated into my actions and presence. I want it to not only be seen but felt.

I want to be remembered as the woman who had the courage and faith to do ANYTHING. I want to be remembered as the woman who empowered others to do the same. A true champion for others, I want to give people permission to bet on themselves, to be FREE and to go for EVERYTHING they want.

I aspire to be more than a business or a brand, but an experience. Something that is etched in the heart of others for years to come because of how I made them feel.

Ultimately, I hope to be remembered as the woman who led with my voice, from my heart and with grace.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Many people have powerful messages that will never be heard simply because they don’t know how to present them effectively. Britney Speaks was created out of the desire to change that.

I empower leaders to boost their confidence by building their presentation skills because if they can speak in public, they can change the world! I specialize in a confidence-building approach, providing trainings for corporations, colleges/universities and entrepreneurs to help perfect the art of storytelling in a compelling and clear manner. Whether your message is being shared in public, private, a board room or classroom, I believes in the power of creating change while leading with your voice.

I am excited about being in business full time! It wasn’t an easy decision but it was a necessary one. The decision to quit my day job was scary because I was forfeiting stability and comfort. I took the LEAP anyway by reminding myself that someone’s breakthrough was awaiting my obedience. Since then, I’ve learned that a little bit of faith is all I need, there is always more support than hate and I am made for this! It’s not easy…at all. But going to a job I hated everyday wasn’t either. Pick your struggle.

I want the world to know that my story is one of courage. I took a LEAP not because I’m special or different. Im simply audacious. My success is a result of a little faith and lots of audacity. Imagine what you would do if you believed you could?

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We have to take naps first and foremost. #NapQueen

THEN we have to go to the beach, hit up wynwood and get Coyo Tacos, Dinner in downtown ft Lauderdale or south beach are always my favs. I love dinner with a view. I love finding hidden gems like ice cream shops and pastry shops.

Water activities are my FAVORITE! I would live on a Yacht if I could so that’s definitely in the plans!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am nothing without the support of my family so I dedicate my shoutout to the Mornings, Henrys, Hunters, Glovers & James. I thank you ALL. Thank you for believing in my dreams and setting me up to accomplish them. From giving me a home, feeding me, encouraging me to praying with me and celebrating me, please know it’s your love that sustains me.

I do not shy away from acknowledging the help I receive because it’s the only way I’ve been able to thrive. When I made the decision to quit my job, it was my family in full support. It was them who gave me the green light. When I took a year off and moved to China, it was them who made my trip possible.

I am grateful. I love you all, DEEP. I pray that my success is the ultimate “thank you.”
