We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniela León and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniela, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks has been a gigantic and important part of my life. I try to always put myself out there, with a positive mindset, the right attitude, and just thinking that you only live once, so might as well make the most out of it! As well as, knowing that that risk might be an opening door for a great opportunity. I leave my comfort zone, a place where the desire to be better and strive for more barely exists. When taking risks, we trust our guts by making a choice that we think fits best for the situation. However, there is always the possibility of risks going sideways and doing the opposite of what the prior estimate was. This is what I like to call: Making mistakes, learning, and most importantly, growing from them!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
It has taken a lot of self-confidence, discipline, and most importantly, resilience. I would be lying if I told you that everything has worked out the way I have wanted it on the first try. You must believe in yourself; your skills and what you are capable of. Mostly everyone will think you are being silly by having a dream that is ‘too far to reach’. That is until they see you achieving it. One quality about me that stands out is that I am open to comments, and feedback from brands and other collaborators. To me, this is very important, because this is how I have learned, and grown over the past few months.
Consistency is the key. Trust your gut feelings and go for it! Be consistent with your content and never, ever, be unfaithful to the values that you stand for. This will be the thing that will set you apart.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love this question! I have lived in Omaha, Nebraska for almost 7 months now. I am currently a full-time student, part-time influencer, so this will have an impact on our itinerary! If I had a friend from the Dominican Republic (where I am from) come visit me, this is where we would go:

MONDAY: After my Monday classes, I would take my friend to Zen Coffee Company, which is the perfect spot for a study session. My go-to order is a cappuccino with foam and an extra shot of espresso or a matcha latte with oat milk, you can never go wrong with that.

TUESDAY: On Tuesday, we would go to Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, the largest zoo in the world, home to about 17,000 animals, we would have so much fun here! A day is not even close to enough to visit this place. I am certain that my friend would enjoy this experience.

WEDNESDAY: After my classes, one of my favorite restaurants in the city, Mula Mexican Kitchen. They have amazing tacos, nachos, and burritos! We could go for lunch or dinner! After, I would show my friend around the neighborhood, one of the prettiest in Omaha!

THURSDAY: On Thursday, I would take my friend to Spielbound Board Game Café. My favorite coffee shop here in the city. I love this place because they have an immense amount of board games from which you can choose and play! And of course, they have great coffee and food. The perfect place for a Thursday afternoon.

FRIDAY: My friend cannot leave town without going to Coneflower Creamery. My absolute favorite handmade ice cream in Omaha. They have a variety of flavors, from Cookies and Cream to Salted Caramel. As well as, their signature flavors, which vary from season to season.

SATURDAY: On Saturday, Blue Sushi is the place to go! One of my favorite sushi restaurants in town. A fun, youthful atmosphere, which I am sure my friend would love.

SUNDAY: Finally, on Sunday my friend and I would go to Pitch Pizzeria, my parents’ favorite pizza place in Omaha. Every time they come to visit, they always want to go! With a great variety of pizzas, but also the best truffle fries I have ever tried before.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom. My biggest supporter. She is the one person who since the very first moment I showed interest in fashion, at approximately 9 years old, as well as recently, when entering the influencer world, supported me and helped me do fun and engaging content. Every time I need advice, I am certain I can come to her, and she will go out of her way to see me happy and thriving. She is the person that takes almost all of the credit for my success. Additionally, my sisters and friends have been there since day one, always having my back, guiding me, and giving me feedback to be a better person, and a better influencer every day.
