We had the good fortune of connecting with W. Devin Cobb and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Devin, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I became a REALTOR® in 2005 and have worked as a Broker Associate in South Florida since 2013. In 2020, residential real estate markets across the country experienced a surprising surge of buyers, and despite COVID bringing the rest of the world to a standstill at that time, home sales still needed to close. At that time, closing agents (i.e. title companies and real estate attorneys) leaned heavily on mobile notaries to facilitate mobile and remote closings from just about anywhere that people could safely meet: parking lots, backyards, you name it! Noticing the increased frequency of mobile closings, I became curious about that aspect of the real estate transaction, so I began my research.

What I found was an opportunity to expand my real estate business from solely serving buyers, sellers, landlords, and tenants, to also include a mobile notary service that supports title companies and attorneys in my network. The document signing is usually the Buyer and Seller’s final step of the real estate transaction, and many times, it is the only face-to-face interaction between the closing agent and the buyer and seller. Consequently, I found this as an opportunity to meet the industry’s need for a higher level of service and professionalism when it comes to mobile notaries.
After a few months of research and preparation, I began marketing the service, being it’s only mobile notary in January 2021. I told myself, “this HAS to work!” And it did! My first order for a mobile closing was on the books by February 1, 2021, and in less than a year, my local service evolved into a nationwide signing service with over 50,000 mobile notaries available on-demand.
The evolution of starting out as an individual notary signing agent to becoming known as a nationwide signing service is a result of the reputation that I’ve created of being a resource to my clients. Many times, my clients find that locating a reliable and professional mobile notary is a tedious task, but they know that if they need my help, “the answer is always ‘yes!’”
Think of White Glove Notary Network, LLC as Uber for notaries!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have been a real estate professional since 2005, so I would be remiss to talk about my business without mentioning real estate sales. In Q4 of 2021, I was selected to be a founding member of the Keller Williams Realty International Sports and Entertainment division, which has presented some very exciting opportunities to work with several athletes who want to enjoy South Florida living. In addition to being a top-producing real estate agent, I founded White Glove Notary Network, LLC in 2021.

White Glove Notary Network, LLC is a nationwide signing service that provides its clients with a professional mobile notary on demand. The White Glove Notary Network consists of over 50,000 mobile notaries, with the goal of being your only call to arrange mobile notary and loan closing services.

A few things set us apart from others: first, many of our notaries are equipped with mobile offices, featuring dual-tray, laser printers and mobile scanners, allowing us to accommodate last-minute signings and to scan document packages from the closing table; also, our clients enjoy seamless nationwide scheduling through our online platform or from our ability to integrate with their existing title software; and, we’re Remote Online Notary (RON) approved, which allows us to use State-approved technology to handle notarizations remotely for clients anywhere in the world.

Because of the relatively quick success that I’ve enjoyed with this business, the perception may be that it has been easy. I won’t say that it’s been incredibly difficult, but being completely dedicated to making this business thrive, I have spent many long days getting in front of clients to acquire new business, tons of hours helping other notaries start their careers or perfect their craft, and plenty of late nights in my home office working behind the scenes to make this THE BEST mobile notary signing service in the country.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of the things that I love about living in South Florida is that there are so many great places within driving distance. If I’ve got a week to show my best friend my favorite spots in the area, we have the option of checking out some of the best places from Palm Beach to Miami.

The most beautiful part of South Florida (besides the people) is the ocean, so we’re definitely hitting the water and heading to Peanut Island in Palm Beach.

Any time I have visitors, it’s guaranteed that we’ll hit a few spots in Lake Worth Beach: Benny’s on the Beach for lunch on the Lake Worth Pier, Viva La Playa for mezcal-infused espresso martinis by the ocean, Lilo’s Streetfood (and The Library, their speakeasy) for a delicious buffalo chicken mac & cheese dish and the best Old Fashioned in town.

In Miami, it’s always fun to walk through Wynwood because I can always discover something new and exciting.

We love a view, and I’m all about a “sexy & rich” vibe, so we’re heading back to West Palm to visit The Ben’s swank rooftop bar, Spruzzo.

Is that enough eating and drinking for a week?!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Being an entrepreneur comes natural to me, and I have my family to thank for that. My grandparents owned a gas station and an auto repair shop, and, in addition to their very long careers in government, my parents have had several ventures over the years. So, as my dad would say: I’m “the offspring from the real thing!”

Working for yourself is HARD, and I wouldn’t be able to do it if it weren’t for the encouragement and support of the people around me, so I’d also like to dedicate this Shoutout to all of my friends and family who patiently wait for a callback after I sent your call to voicemail because I’m busy with a client, anyone who has had to pause the Netflix because I took call mid-binge, anyone who has had to deal with my tardiness to dinner/party/bar/etc. because I kept working when I should have been en route, and anyone else who feels neglected by this workaholic… THANK YOU!
