We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamie Hess and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jamie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
End of the Ave is a lifestyle brand and Restaurant. I live in Delray Beach and wanted to open a casual no-frills fun spot right by the Ocean, which is the main reason I moved to Florida from D.C. We specialize in Hotdogs, Tacos, Beer & Wine and other easy and affordable beach grab and go foods. We also have great patio that overlooks Atlantic Avenue and we do Delivery!
What should our readers know about your business?
Nothing about opening a Restaurant or Bar is easy. But very few things are more rewarding. I get to create great Food, Experiences, and smiles on a daily basis!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Best Burger and Cocktails at “Death or Glory.” Best Slice of Pizza at “Pizza Rustica”. Favorite hangout “The Silverball Pinball Museum” Great Ramen at “Ramen Lab Eatery” Live Music we love going to “Hurricanes” Takeout Asian would be “Lemongrass.” Italian or Brunch at “Elisabettas” Cheap Drinks/Dive Bar go to “Delray Hideway” And our absolute favorite is the Beach at the corner of Atlantic Ave and A1A!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Mother and amazing Partner June & Sandy both for being by my side either in person or on the phone as we navigated the challenges of opening my 4th Restaurant especially during these unusual times.
