We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Amendola and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, do you feel you are working on or pursuing your passion?
Absolutely. There is nothing I love more than helping other entrepreneurs and small business owners grow their businesses and see their dreams realized. In both of my businesses, as a leader with Beautycounter and through our marketing consulting company, Always Friday Co, I get to to do that on a daily basis.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’ve been lucky to build two businesses from home that I love, so I’m extremely grateful, but there are definitely challenges every day! I’m a Senior Director with Beautycounter, a clean beauty brand, which means I help families choose safer beauty and personal care products, as well as train and mentor other women as they build their own clean beauty businesses. I’m proud to be one of the top leaders in Miami, and our team is growing every day. It’s amazing to be a part of a movement of entrepreneurial women (and some men) growing businesses while making a significant social impact through education and advocacy, in our efforts to get safer products into the hands of everyone. But it definitely didn’t come easily – it was a huge challenge at first because I had never been in sales, never expected to become part of a social selling business, and had NO idea where to start. I had to get out of my comfort zone every day. But at the end of the day, my passion for the brand and its purpose drove me to show up authentically and people responded to that. My other business, Always Friday Co, is a boutique marketing consultancy that I run alongside my husband, Andy Amendola. Working with your significant other presents its own set of challenges – but we get to leverage our combined 30+ years of experience in marketing and advertising and help small business owners with everything from branding and brand strategy to digital marketing, content marketing and everything in between. It took a huge leap of faith to get us here – we both left the security of our “full time” jobs which was stressful. But we knew that by partnering together and combining our skills, we had so much to offer. We get to work hand in hand with other entrepreneurs and grow alongside them, and we see our efforts pay off. It’s rewarding, as much as it challenging, every day.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ah, having a friend visit sounds like heaven! Hopefully post-COVID we’ll start seeing visitors again. But, when a friend does visit, the first place they always want to go is Soho House – there’s really nothing like a relaxing day poolside at Soho. We’d also probably hit up a Jet Set pilates class in Sunset Harbour, brunch at Icebox Cafe and then some shopping at Gee Beauty and Flying Lizard. But I always make sure we venture off the beach too, because there is so much more to Miami. We would definitely hit up Wynwood; Coyo Taco for lunch, cocktails at No.3 Social, Alter for dinner. We’d probably stroll around Design District for awhile; I love that more affordable stores have moved in as well, like Reformation and Cuyana, two of my favorites, If they have kids, we’d stop by State of Kid (which has the cutest kid’s clothes and little gifts), drink matcha lattes at OTL, and end with manicures at Vanity Project. We’d inevitably end up back at Soho House in the evenings, too, for live music and picante de la casas.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have been lucky to have had SO many incredible mentors in my life that have helped to shape and guide me throughout my career. And of course my husband for his unwavering support (and partnership – we’re co-founders of our boutique consultancy together). But I can truly pinpoint a lightbulb moment a few years ago when I knew I HAD to follow my dream of going out on my own and starting my own business. I was listening to Oprah’s Super Soul Conversation podcast with Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith; it was all about manifesting the life of your dreams, and aligning with your soul’s purpose. It might sound a little out there, but it was exactly what I needed to hear at that moment in my life – and I’ve re-listened to that podcast episode many times since then.
