Meet Perie Shah | Model & College Student. majoring in Nursing

We had the good fortune of connecting with Perie Shah and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Perie, what principle do you value most?
One of the most important principles in my life that I never fail to follow is honesty. Honesty plays a significant role in defining your character, and it’s the key foundation of every relationship. My most important connection is to my family, and I strongly believe that in order to maintain the purity of the connections you have you must be faithful and honest. Honesty may hurt someone’s feelings, but it’s much better to hear the truth than for someone to find out you were lying about a genuine question or issue they had.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am currently working part-time on my college campus, taking 18 college credit hours, and I’m a model for LRJ management in Miami. There is always this question interviewers ask their potential candidates: why should we choose you and what sets you different from everyone else; most of the time you hear that one may be dedicated, punctual, compassionate, and disciplined. The question I would like to answer is what makes me the same as everyone, and the answer is that I’m not perfect. Being not perfect and having flaws are things that really harm the human mind and impact it in a negative manner, and for me, that results in me overthinking every decision I make and reading in-between the lines of what someone may mean. What sets me apart from everyone else is that I admit I am not perfect, and I am willing to accept my flaws and make them my drive to work harder. My flaws can always be improved but they will never leave because they make me different from everyone else. This is not easy whatsoever, especially for someone who lives in a world where most things are driven by social media and/or the internet. Accepting my flaws, my imperfections, and my obstacles help me progress in my life because if I don’t accept them I’ll be stuck in a very negative internal environment. This is what I want the world to know: I am no one right now, but in order to become someone I am willing to accept who I am and put my foot down to achieve the dreams and goals I truly desire. Thank you.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in a very small county, and my best friends live in the same county as I do. There is not much that a younger individual might enjoy doing besides spending time with the people they love. One thing we do have here is swimming with the Manatees in Three Sister Springs located in Crystal River, Florida. Many people love coming here to kayak, swim, boat, and just overall have a. great time. We have our authentic coffee shop in Citrus County named Cattle Dog. Lastly., one other popular place to hang out and chill would be Liberty Park located in Inverness, Florida. Many people come here to boat, walk their dogs, bring their children to play, and/ or have picnics. Though it’s a small county, it’s definitely a beautiful community.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have always had an amazing support system not only throughout my childhood but in my teenage years as well. The benefits of always being supported mentally and physically are very prominent in my life and I am very blessed to have that, but most of all I would love to shout out myself. I have grown through the best and worst moments of my life, and though some moments would impact me and my mind in a very harmful manner I would not want to get rid of them whatsoever. Throughout these moments I have acknowledged important life lessons/qualities such as: how to be independent, asking myself what I really want, being assertive in the decisions you make whether they are severe or not, and most of all learning to love yourself. I am only 18 years old and I’m obviously not successful when it comes to my career, but what I am progressing and succeeding in is how to be me and how I can be happy with every day that comes ahead of me.
