We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought Process behind starting my own business was actually pretty simple. I Love the fact that you can choose where you spend your hard earned money. Customer service really means a lot to me! I feel like anyone that is getting MY money that I WORKED for should be friendly, compassionate, understanding, listen to me and try to help me. I’ve played a role in many different companies And I always felt like I always played the largest role . I had so many better ideas than my managers did. I felt like the managers needed management! That was the main reason why every job I worked I always was the lead of it. It was then that I realized that I was capable of running my own business. I found something that I loved and made a career out of it. I applied my customer service skills and my natural personality and created a business to compliment a lifestyle that pleases my family and I . I realized that as long as I’m happy with what I’m doing , I can do it with my eyes closed, and as long as I can do what I love with my eyes closed I’m going to make millions doing it!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When I was younger I used to paint and draw a lot. Art was my favorite subject. As I got older I started experimenting with make up and realized it was the same thing but on a different canvas. I never stopped doing what I loved I just started doing it differently. There are several  make up artists that do top-notch quality work! I’m not the only make up artist! But not only am I a make up artist I’m REAL . To me This is not only about a dollar. It’s about providing the type of quality service you yourself would like to receive. It’s about making someone feel good when they don’t feel their best. It’s the fact that someone trusted me to do some thing that they couldn’t trust themselves to do. It means something to me that somebody needs me. I love helping others. I never want to withhold something I have from someone who really needs it. When you are not selfish it is easier for you to serve. Helping others truly brings me joy. Making others smile or feel beautiful makes my heart melt. I want others to feel the joy that I have within myself also so it reflects outwardly! It was not easy in the beginning and it’s not easy now! I overcame my challenges by not comparing myself to anyone but comparing my new self to the old me. That’s what keeps me pushing! I learned that as long as I trust in myself no obstacle that comes my way can trump the faith that I have within myself. BeYOUnique LLC. If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Probably out to dinner and drinks . I love sushi , “good music “ and good vibes . Viscaya is one of my favorite places to go . Or on a yacht!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The person I would like to Give credit to is my mentor Racquel Perez . In 2011 I joined Mary Kay. It was during that time that I realized I wanted to be a make up artist. From there I branched on to running my own business. Had It not been for Racquel’s Daily encouragement and mentorship I might have given up. She saw something in me that I did not see. And now I definitely see what she saw. Thank you !
