We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaclyn Willms and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jaclyn, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have always been a person who thinks outside of the box. Creating new methods, solutions and helping others live a healthy happy life has always been my passion. I had worked for various companies, owner by various types of people and the common denominator was that I was constantly working on strategies on how to buy the business or execute the service better. Starting my own business was a no brain after multiple failed attempts at executing my own ideas under “someone else’s rules” if you will. By starting my own business I could target the clientele that best suited what I had to offer and fill a void I saw in the fitness industry. I was now able to tailor my service to meet their needs in the best way possible. My brain began to race at all the new possibilities I now had being my own boss. The sky was the limit. I could create the business of my dreams and my clients. All the trials and errors I learned along the way guided me to where I am today. A health and wellness entrepreneur continuously growing, learn and evolving to where I am needed next to help the world live a happy healthy life.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Physical, mental and emotional movement fires me up! The healing ability that physical exercise has on our entire life is so powerful. I’m excited every single day I wake up in the morning and get to share more movement with my clients and even random people I meet throughout the day.
What sets me apart is my ability to adapt to someone’s needs and be able to execute an exercise program that makes them feel alive! From sports specific movements, rehab exercises, weight loss plans, muscle building, mobility work and the list goes on. What makes my style of training unique is that it is my own style and method that I have created from absorbing knowledge from multiple practitioners, trainers, therapists and doctors. I’ve watched for over a decade how others treat, train and see their patients and I have such a deep understanding and awareness on how the body moves that I can get anyone moving even when they think they can’t. My superpower is showing you what your body is capable of.
Was it easy?
Without failure we do not learn, without hard times we do not become resilient and without challenges we cannot grow. Behind every successful person is more failure. I am thankful for my failures because without them I wouldn’t be here writing this now. I will say this, if you are open to learn, grow and go with the flow the challenges become less because you become stronger and quicker at smoothie the roadblocks or bumps. These bumps are less frequent because you learn how to create a foundation that cannot be shaken. There is always a silver lining in each setback and when we become thankful for these setbacks we are able to see the good in them, the protection that it gave us and the space it gave us to see the path where we belong a little more clear. You see that when something doesn’t go your way it is always an opportunity to learn and be grateful because what is meant for you will never pass you by. So next time something doesn’t go your way, say thank you, for that is your protection to redirect you in the right direction.
Without being redirected so many times in my journey I wouldn’t have been able to gather all the amazing experience, information and knowledge that I have and that is exactly what makes me and my brand so strong.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have had the privilege to have some amazing mentors, coaches and simple profound individuals that came into my life at the right time that guided the trajectory of my life. In person, through books, podcasts and even unique encounters through social media I have met so many perfect people at the perfect time. The most pivotal individuals in my journey are my spiritual coach Jacqui Tracy, business coach Jairek Robbins and business mentor Liana Werner-Gray. My husband, my mom and God are my rocks and most loving support system I could ever imagine on every step of my journey.
