We had the good fortune of connecting with Oleg Klovatskiy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Oleg, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have worked independently since very young age. I can say the same about my wife Elena. Basically, we always have been entrepreneurs. When we have moved to the USA we had to start our lives “from the scratch”. But there is a saying: at certain age you don’t start from the bottom- you start from experience. We’re sure, that if a person knows how to make money, the one can do it in any country and under any circumstances. It wasn’t a question either start our own business or not. It was a question of time.
What should our readers know about your business?
We are called Dancing Daisy. Elena – the Head Designer – is also a Professional Ballet instructor. I can’t even tell in which field she’s more talented: floral design or teaching Ballet. Starting our floral business we had in mind to combine those two passions of hers. At first it seemed almost impossible. Really, what do those two have in common? But finally we did figure it out: the simplicity of presentation, the logic of construction, and clarity of execution. We can’t say that we have overcome challenges. Basically, we are still at square one. There will be plenty of challenges along the way. But this is what makes an entrepreneur to be successful: ability to deal with those challenges.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are plenty of fun an interesting spots in Boca and surrounding areas. We don’t separate Boca Raton from all South East Florida. We consider our home the area from West Palm Beach to Miami. If we had to show our friends around we’d start from Boca Raton Museum of Art, Morikami Museum, Flamingo Gardens, Butterfly World. We’d show them the boat bash on Lake Boca Raton.
We’d definitely go to Atlantic boardwalk in Delray Beach for Saturday night hangout. We’d go to Design District in Miami, Wynwood Walls, Brickell. We’d show them Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. We’d take them to the Breakers Palm Beach for Sunday brunch… Well, it would be a long and interesting week).
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My wife, my partner, my soulmate – Elena Klovatskiy
