Meet Chris Caruso | Drummer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Caruso and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, why did you pursue a creative career?
From the moment I picked up drum sticks I knew this was for me I went to school for music and perused degrees in jazz performance and education. However when I left college I was stuck in kitchens miserable and Hateful as it was the only way I knew how to pay the bills. Until one day I got pissed and said to my self I have a college education in music why would I be working these miserable jobs. I then made a plan to quit and do music full time and for me it actually worked. I’m a much happier person now and my soul is at peace, and I’m doing what I love for a living. For me I Went toward a career in music not only because it’s what I love but also what will keep me sane and out of jail. Lol

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We are a Rock Band from the Orlando area. We formed three years ago and have played major festivals and venues. We try to create a fan experience with every single we release. Tailoring new art color scheme etc. for each. We have worked very hard and it hasn’t been easy but we still have a long way to go. We all have different styles of music and bands we like. And we come together to form what you hear when you play our music. In other words we each write our own parts and produce them. For us our end goal is always how can we do better. How can we write better play better get bigger shows and better our career. That in itself is the best lesson I’ve learned. You never stop learning and growing. Keep pushing and make yourself better every day.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love to travel when I have the time especially over seas. I love just visiting new places in general. However Florida is a beautiful state with a lot of awesome things to do here. But mostly the beach is where it’s at. If I had to have a week trip here with a friend I would have to be by the coast. Personally I love the water so from water sports to just sun bathing any beach in this state on the coast is great. And maybe we can tie it off with going to welcome to Rockville and moshing in the pit to our fav metal bands

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Ied like to shoutout to my family for dealing with the noise of my drumming especially in the beginning lol. My old mentor Mark Praul who was a god behind the kit.
And of course all the companies that have stood behind THE DEV as we have grown. ( SJC drums, Collision Drum Sticks, Saluda Cymbals, MVK music group, SIT Strings, WB Gear, In Tune GP)
